Post by: ayaz on March 10, 2014, 10:45:06 pm
hey guys I have finised my degree and am thinking of applying for another degree.... my current GPA is 3.3/4. I am just wondering what is this translated to in GPA system that is out of 7....

I went on a calculator on the internet and it goes that it is converted to 6.2/7. however another website goes that it is 5.77/7...

thanks for you help

First of all, where are you applying to?

Second, you can't convert it from /4 to /7 with a straight number multiplier. Since different unis have different scales (eg. UoM has 6.5 for H2As), you need to give someone all of your scores and have them work it out manually.

I am in Bond University MEDICINE which requires a GPA of at least 6+...
my scores are as follows.

HD, HD, CR, PA
HD HD DI DI
HD CR CR
HD DI DI PA
HD HD HD DI
HD HD HD DI

HD=4 POINTS
DI= 3PTS
CR= 2PTS
PA= 1 PTS

ALL SUBJECTS HAVE 12 CREDIT POINTS...

THANKS ALOT

Assuming no year level scaling:

HD = 7
D = 6
CR = 5
PA = 4
FAIL = 0

12 HDs = 84
6 Ds = 36
3 CRs = 15
2 PAs = 8

Sum of all scores = 143
Courses taken = 23

GPA = 143/23 = 6.217

Why haven't you taken 24 courses? That's a standard 3 year degree considering all classes are worth 12 units.
