Title: TrebleClef's Health Questions!
Post by: TrebleClef on April 15, 2014, 02:17:04 pm
Hello,
I was wondering, for the NHPAs, do we need to know all the symptoms of the illnesses, like say dementia, there are 4 common types, do we need to know the differences b/w them?

Hey :)
Its really hard to know what you need to know with dementia.
I mean the study design states

the National Health Priority Areas (NHPAs) including:
– key features and reasons for selection of each NHPA
– determinants that act as risk factors
– direct, indirect and intangible costs to individuals and communities of NHPAs
– one health promotion program relevant to each NHPA

but as dementia was a new NHPA for last year and wasn't tested in the exam, I would rather be safer than sorry so I would learn the different types, as well as the stages of dementia (early, moderate and severe)   but just in a general sense.
Hope this helps :)

Hello everyone, I was wondering if someone could answer question 2 in this activity. I'm having a bit of a disagreement with my teacher as to what the answer is. I'd like to know what answer you guys come up with.
Thank you! :D

I agree with Penguu
Sub-saharan africa?

Why isn't it considered as a percentage of the original, with sub Saharan Africa only having a 30% decrease, where as, say Northern Africa had an approx 65% improvement?

The way I interpreted question 2 was that it's talking about the greatest improvement in relation to meeting the target on the graph.

What do we need to memorise word for word in the course?

If you are going to learn some things word for word, I'd say health status terminology.
Also definitions of human development, sustainability, health promotion, biomedical/social models of health.

They're the ones I can think of off the top of my head

Hi :)
I was wondering if anyone could help me with study for unit 4 outcome 2? I have a revision sheet and it says to explain the interrelationship between health, human development and sustainability using HIV/AIDS as an example in your response. I have no idea what to write for it, so can someone help me? Thank you :) :D :)

Hey guys
I've been noticing that many practice exam questions are asking about NGOs that work with DFAT/AUSAID to promote global health and sustainable human development. Do we need to learn these programs?

I would have a good understanding of them, or a good idea is to make them one of the programs that you learn for Malaria/safe water etc.
Hope this helps :)
