Title: Cellular Respiration SAC checklist
Post by: walkec on April 20, 2014, 05:57:49 pm
Hi everyone,
I've got a SAC next Monday on Cellular Respiration and I am just finalising my checklist. This is what I have so far:

- The equation for cellular respiration
- Types of cellular respiration and the similarities and differences between them
- The stages of aerobic respiration, their processes and their inputs and outputs
- The structure of ADP + Pi and ATP
- Structure of the mitochondrion

Do you think there is anything else I need to include?

Thanks!  :)

I think you should also know the products of anaerobic respiration in plants and animals.

Yes, anaerobic respiration is a big gaping hole in your checklist! Understand how the process works in humans and yeast cells, the products formed at the end and its key industrial applications and how they work. One things to remember in particular is why different products are formed in different species (I'll let you find this one in your textbook for yourself but if you need help feel free to ask for it).

Can't think of anything else to add tbh apart from Stick and Rishi's suggestions. You've pretty much got everything, good luck for the SAC next week Walkec :D.

Sorry to butt in, but could someone help me with why different products are formed in different species?
I was unsure about this :/
