In the VCE study design for Biology unit 3&4 are you required to know WHY there are 2 hydrogen bonds between Adenine and Thymine and 3 between Guanine and Cytosine? If so, how would you answer such question.

I am fairly sure that you do not need to know about why but Adenine has double bonds with Thymine due to the molecular structure whilst Guanine has an extra hydrogen in which it allows it to join up to form an extra bond. This is all to do with the molecular structure. But i am fairly sure you dont need to know it why :)
