Title: Interesting ways to start an oral presentation?
Post by: Penguuu on May 16, 2014, 08:26:59 pm
Hi guys, I have my oral presentation in around a month and I'm just starting to write up the speech. Im stuck on how to start it in an interesting and engaging manner? There are anecdotes and stuff but I can't seem to think of one for my topic: Do we need new, tougher laws to deal with King Hits (One Punch Laws)? The contention i think I'm going with is no, the solution to one punch cases is not new, tougher laws, but the rather education and change of behaviour, but I'm not too sure on that yet either.

THanks!!

Hey, you could start with a personal anecdote, an "imagine if you were...", a description of a situation, a quote from a well-known person... there's heaps of possibilities  :)

For the personal anecdote for the one punch laws, you could focus on just one person and talk about their story.

Mention three names and dates in succession. Everyone will be confused. Plot twist, victims of violence - needs to be changed.
