Realistically, when do results start to appear?
Title: Re: [UoM] 2014 Semester 1 Results Thread
Post by: Ballerina on June 21, 2014, 02:05:28 pm
The more you f5, the sooner they'll appear

Although there are official dates for release, most subjects release results before the dates. Last year mine appeared on different days for different subjects, at least 2 weeks before the release date. It depends on how quickly the results are processed, cross-marked, etc. All you can do is

f5 f5 f5 f5

First in, I guess! Two of my results are already up surprisingly. Only 10 days after the exam!

MGMT30006 - Managing Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Passed
2014, Semester 1, Parkville, On Campus   Credit Points: 12.50
Mark: 76 Grade: Second Class Hons A (H2A)

MKTG30011 - Product Management
Passed
2014, Semester 1, Parkville, On Campus   Credit Points: 12.50

Little bummed about MGMT30006 but oh well.

Nah I have Ver 2 and that's not the case.
In my past degree I have Ver 3 4 5 on some.
I thought it might be the amount of times they reviewed the grade. But 3 4 5 seems excessive.

You don't need to do better, that is amazing. @_@ Those scores far exceed what is required to access any Australian postgraduate qualification you want.

Experimental Maths, I'm assuming? I heard on the grapevine that the Board of Examiners for the maths department meets today, and that results are already in the system but being withheld until after the meeting.

Having said that, I got one of my maths results back yesterday, so who can tell what's happening in the deepest darkest corners of the Richard Berry building...

Yeah. Doing the PGDip partly to change from a pure maths to a stats major, and partly because Jan de Gier wasn't too keen on letting me into the MSc with my undergrad marks (which were all over the place). Started thinking about potential supervisors and research topics recently ... fun times!

Congrats!! <3 Yeah the exam was crazy on time :/ I almost did the same thing I did for a breadth subject last year which had the same exam format, and wrote too much for the questions at the beginning and didn't leave time to write the answers for the last questions at the end. Many students didn't get to finish all the questions for both GHS and Critical Thinking With Data.

+1. I'm kind of missing the respect system on this thread, because everyone no matter the score they got would always tend to get the same amount of respect. I wish everyone could be content with receiving any kind of H1 but we I guess we all set ourselves different standards. Students shouldn't be disheartened when they receive H2s either, those are great scores that are well above the average in many, if not all, subjects. Inb4 I get just a pass for Muscle & Exercise Physiology

I got a score much lower than the amount of hours I put in should have reflected. Sometimes I guess it just doesn't work out perfectly. Sorry that you are disappointed though. It's never a nice feeling.

I'm sorry hobbitle, I hope you're okay. I know it sucks. I didn't mean to make anyone feel upset (as per usual) sometimes when I'm angry I just type without thinking! I should probably just delete everything I said anyway because can't feel safe on the Internet anymore and etc for obvious reasons. Sorry again to anyone I bothered.

On another note, this has been weird timing of results release-->I did the Principles of Neuroscience exam in the first week on exam period, and it was all multiple choice. Maybe there was an error with a question like the neuroscience MST where they cut out 3 questions, not entirely sure though. The results I have received in the past have never really been corellated with the time I had the exam though.

Congratulations everyone!! You're all scholastic superstars~**~~ I think I wrote that last year. It's now a noble tradition to call everyone scholastic superstars.

2014 Semester 1 PSYC20006 Biological Psychology 1 90 H1 First Class Honours 12.500

2014 Semester 1 PHYS20008 Human Physiology 2 73 H2B Second Class Hons B 12.500

Preeeetty much what I expected, but still really glad I don't have to repeat anything etc. Interestingly PHYS20008 is a hundred times better taught than PSYC20006, but I still did better in PSYC20006 because it's much closer to my interests and I kind of zone out whenever it comes to anything other than neurons and digestion. It's probably a good idea that I dropped Research-Based Physio and therefore Experimental Physio for next year if I wasn't having fun, but I am going to miss Charles so much. ): ARE YOU THERE CHARLES? I'M SORRY.

For neurophysiology last year my score definitely went up like 2 days after it was initially posted so nobody should assume a grade is final! Definitely room for moderation or a boost, esp if essay style questions or short answer involved.

Yeah it was all MCQ for 3 of my subjects (Muscle & exercise, neurosci and neurophys), I don't think those will change but you never knowwww.
