BAM

I think I'm alone in every single one of these subjects this semester, as far as AN goes. :(

I reckon all my subjects will be substantially easier than yours, but maybe I'm biased because I'm a tree-hugging, nature-loving outlier of a science student.

(I take no responsibility if we both fail CEDB)

I don't understand what there's not to love.

You can try to avoid them outside the Baillieu Library but the SA will ultimately catch everyone in their web.

Didn't know class registration opened until most of the classes were full :(
Worst timetable ever lol. If my finance lecture is recorded then I'm only going to classes 1 day per week :D

Hang on, doesn't Reproductive Physiology have three lectures and a tutorial rather than four lectures? o_o

I looked at the lecture recordings and there's definitely a tutorial. I think they may call the tutorial a lecture because it's recorded and there is only one tutorial time with no other tutorial options, I guess it's more of a lectorial.

I slept in when the classes were released - typical me. Thankfully; however, I still managed to secure my subjects. In short, I am continuing with Latin, The Principles of Business Law, Law in Society and Myth Art and Empire.

It should be an interesting semester! Good luck to everyone.

Title: Re: Semester Two Timetable Thread
Post by: Inside Out on July 06, 2014, 08:26:47 pm
What sort of classes are they? If some of them are lectures you might be better off watching them online later on to allow for a break.
so 2 lectures, 1 2-hour workshop and then one lecture. I don't do well with watching lectures online :/ thanks for the tip though

It really depends on the rest of your schedule and their time slots (assuming they are at different times).

I had a tute on Friday last semester that was three hours long. Long story short: not fun, never doing it again unless I have to.

For most subjects tutes cover the previous weeks' lectures, so I would say Monday so you don't get content mixed up.

Changed from UNIB30004 back to LING10001 impulsively, now I have to wait two weeks to enrol in the Tuesday lecture :'( And that 4-hr gap is lots of fun.

Don't you live on campus? Just go home for a nap!

Spoiler
Yes, that is basically my solution to anything

I live 1.1 kms away (not on College Crescent, Medley is too ~*hipster and individual*~ to be part of the mainstream crowd) that involves walking 4.5 kms a day instead of 2.2, NOBODY LIKES EXERCISE.
(I probably will just go home, #perksofcityliving.)

(Napping is my solution to everything, too; I think I slept in every biochemistry lecture this semester :') )

Most of my classes haven't opened for registration yet and they haven't decided on a firm date for the release, so I am just assuming I don't go to university anymore

Russ how are you liking the MD?

Is interesting. There are lots of good things and bad things but it's certainly a lot of fun to go through. I'd do it again, even though I'm not sure what I want in the future. Ask me again in three months when i'm busy regretting having done no work for the year and it's exam time though?
If you have specific questions I can answer them, but those are my thoughts on the MD

Is anyone on AN doing introductory microeconomics in semester 2? when i enrolled and registered for classes, there is only one lecture stream, but in the 2014 handbook, there's suppose to be two lecture stream?   the current available lecture stream clashes with my other subjects :(

Hey scribble I put both Prac 1 and Prac 2 for BMEN30007 on at the same time because allegedly they are each a one-off class in different weeks. Do you concur? I feel like it's risky haha.

Yeah, and I generally found the pracs a lot less busy then second year pracs. They can still be pretty hectic, but the fact that they're so long means that they can take a more leisurely pace compared to second (and first) year pracs.

A few weeks you'll only have a couple of hours of actual lab work (although you'll still have worksheets/exercises to do.)

First. Students on AN are not allowed tutorials after 6 PM, it offends my mother hen instincts. Nobody wants the Parkville Strangler to reclaim his next victim.

If you are stuck with the second one though, the sun starts to set much later in late-August onward and you start to finally go home in daylight praise the lord almighty

100% first. Early finish on thursday and I think there are too many breaks in the second timetable that you would eventually get sick of.

4 hours is the longest you go without having a break, which in all honestly is not that bad, considering the amount of hours you have. I definitely prefer the first timetable, but maybe that's because I think breaks between classes, besides lunch breaks, are nothing short of boring.

Take the 1st and attend the workshop but ditch the other lectures if you don't feel like it or if you're too tired. (make sure to catch up on them though!) :)
