Title: Language Analysis Conclusion Help.
Post by: Random_Acts_of_Kindness on October 27, 2014, 03:08:14 pm
Hi guys,

I went to school today, and I asked my teacher about language analysis' conclusions, and she advised me that in my conclusions for a single article, I should analyse how the writer ended their piece.

Is it advisable to analyse in one's conclusion? As I have heard that one should only conclude in a conclusion and do no analysis. I know... who would have thought.

:o

Afternoon m'lady. In the conclusion you want to summarise the techniques used by the writer and explain their intention. Le Fedora tip

I usually don't end it with how the writer ended it... there is no specific rule about it and I know a lot of people do this, but I just like to wrap it up and say how through X, Y and Z, the writer entertains the notion A, forming the crux of their argument.

^^ I feel like that sufficiently wraps up the essay for an essay that doesn't really need a conclusion.

Echoing what Yacoubb said, just keep it short and sharp. Say what the author contended, how they illustrated this argument and the tones that they used. You don't need to write everything, my conclusion is usually 2 sentences long.
