Title: Predicting Study Scores
Post by: Mayesy on November 03, 2014, 03:30:42 pm
Hey guys, a few people were getting annoyed about queries of potential study scores on the exam 2 discussion, so maybe post them here!
I was wondering if anyone could tell me my possible score, my results are as follows:
Sacs: Rank 1 99/100
Exam 1: 40/40
Exam 2: 59/60
Can I still get 50?

Even with a weak cohort if you perform well enough individually then you can still get a very high score.

I'd be guessing low to mid 40's

You could've only dropped about 6/7 marks all up to get over a 45, one mark tops for a 50.

There's nothing wrong with wanting a rough idea of your score, if you don't want to know then don't ask, but don't have a go at people who do.

I get your point, that people should be focusing on what's ahead, but maybe yet need to get the worrying out of their system by asking what they're likely to get. I won't be doing many more predictions anyway, because as you say, people need to start focusing on their other exams.

I don't know my Sac Rank or score out of 100 as teachers only tell us if it's VH/H/M/L
But for all of my sacs i've been getting VH and I know i'm at the higher end of the cohort.
GA2:38/40
GA3:52-3/60

Is there still hope of 40+? I go to a private school if that helps :P

Everyone is probably going to laugh at me asking this.... but when you refer to your 'rank', like how does your school go about ranking everyone? Is it a public thing like 'here are the charts' or do you go to the coordinator or teacher to find out?

lmao cheers :)

At my school, you'd have to go and see the teachers for that subject; you aren't given any kind of list.
Or alternatively, if it's a smaller subject, you could probably figure out what rank you are just by asking around. (eg, I know I'm in the middle for literature and equal second in legal studies.) If you knew what the average score was for SACs, you could get an estimate of where you sit overall. That's how I've worked out my other subjects.

Hi again! Could you please give me an actual prediction this time? I have been really depressed about further since yesterday's exam :P

Sacs: higher end of the cohort at a private school
GA2: 38/40
GA3: 52-3/60

I've been using mao's SS estimator, but I'm not sure how accurate that would be for the later years

I know about the general rule that each mark lost correlates to 1 study score down but is this only true for people who are rank 1? I would imagine that a worse rank would result in decreasing the study score more than if rank 1.

Hi,
what would be my study score this year?
GA1:85-90% (our sac scores go up by heaps, last year a b+was an a+ so we have hard sacs and a really strong cohort and I know I'm near top 10%)
GA2: 38/40
GA3: I'm not too sure but I think 57-58/60

Could someone predict me?
SACS: I dropped a lot of marks, but would assume I'm in the higher end rank wise (think something like 3/4 with 4/4 being the highest I suppose! Our school is highish ranked so I'd assume quite a good cohort.
GA2: 37/40
GA3: 54-57/60 I'm guessing

Mid 40's depending on your sac scaling, maybe lower

Hey guys, a few people were getting annoyed about queries of potential study scores on the exam 2 discussion, so maybe post them here!
I was wondering if anyone could tell me my possible score, my results are as follows:
Sacs: Rank 1 99/100
Exam 1: 40/40
Exam 2: 59/60
Can I still get 50?

You deserve a 50.
