Good job, only mid years where the median is a B
http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vce/statistics/2009/midyear/midyear.html
not full marks = you got gg'ed
about 350 kids got full marks, I've heard (5% of students)
only 12 did last year
that's a 3000% increase in number of full marks
that is insane. I can't even express how much failure VCAA has displayed in this year's physics exam.
does anyone know if this other rumour about VCAA making the exams at the start of the year is true?
if so, we have all been let down. the only to fix what they've created is to make it a hard unit 4 exam.

350!!!!!!!!!! no way!!!!! that cant be true!!!!!!!!!!!

And this information is taken from where?

If you follow the link there is information provided
the only uncertain statistic was that 5% of students got full marks, which is something that has been passing around at my school and was apparently said by a teacher.
I know it can't be trusted, but 709 people got an A+ which needed an 86/90 (this information is given in the link). I would assume that a good proportion of those people got full marks, so although it might not have been 350 kids, it was still a lot lot more than last year.

Around 700 people got A+. That's from 86 to 90.
I would have thought you would get something like 200 (86) 180 (87) 160 (88) 140 (89) 120 (90)

So what if the unit 4 exam was of same difficulty, does that mean we wont be able to get a 40, even if we drop like 2-3 marks??

I don't know, but remember that sacs are worth 33% of the deal. I think they will be a significant discriminator this year.

solution: make exams much harder so we dont have this ridiculous situation where the top 8% ranges from 86 to 90... get on the lower end of this and you get a 39
even in 'normal' years, the top 10% is separated by only ~8 marks.
might as well just make the exam out of 10.

According to the TSFX dude (Assistant chief examiner or something) Approximately ~109 (my memory isn't great) students got 180/180, and 40 got 179/180
-
Looks like SACs are gonna be super important :P
-
Well, let's just hope for an uber hard unit 4!
-
VCAA = gay.
