God you guys almost gave me a heart attack...
It's weird that EDDA was the last exam I sat yet the first result up... Hopefully that means the rest of my results will be ready by next week.

Do we just check "my recent results" this semester? My studyplan doesn't seem to look like how it should
I haven't been able to access my study plan OR recent results. IS it just me? :(
I can't get to it via my.unimelb, but https://prod.ss.unimelb.edu.au/student/SM/StudyPlanDtls10.aspx?r=%23UM.STUDENT.APPLICANT&f=%24S1.EST.STUDYPLN.WEB gets me to the study plan. Hope that helps!

I don't think results get released over the weekend anyway so it's OK.
So it appears results starting come out on the 26th of November last year, so hopefully we might see some portal/results action on Wednesday :)
We could be getting our D&C results today, it says after 4pm 24th november on turnitin
I saw that!! I'm nervous, this will be our first mark!
well they're out now, how did you go? :)
84% :) so 85% for the subject overall, so really happy with that!
I won't post my "official mark" here yet though, in case they scale anything (which I highly doubt).
Were you pleased with your mark?

My sport coaching marks finally came out (on lms not study plan) and I'm hoping my mark doesn't get scaled down :(
It shouldn't change. But yeah, our marks are only on lms at the moment too.
my.unimelb appears to be back up again. Although I have no more new results available. I'm guessing nothing will be released after 5pm. :/
yayy!!! sport coaching is officially out.
H1 so very happy with it - but scraped through. Hoping it doesn't change.
EDIT: I also heard that genes and environment is out!! Maybe 1st year science bio is out as well? Good luck!!!
Nah Genetics/Evolution of Life not out yetYou're getting impatient because it's 10 days before the finalisation date for results and you still haven't received them? Life's tough, eh?
I'm getting impatient. Really quickly.
You're getting impatient because it's 10 days before the finalisation date for results and you still haven't received them? Life's tough, eh?
because my genetics exam was on the same day as the biomed genetics exam and because those two subjects have very similar assessment.
BIOL10005 results tend to show up a day or two after BIOL10003. Throughout an undergraduate degree, you learn that exam time and result release time are rarely correlated.
I've heard. But for practical chemistry, my last piece of assessment was due on like November 3 or something and given that all of my other assessments had been marked before then, I'm really surprised they haven't released that score yet.
Has anyone's result ever actually changed between their release and the results final release date?
All chemistry marks are released on the same day - I think the spread of results for all subjects are checked by a committee to ensure that they are consistent, fair etc. Last year, prac chem (and S&P) were released on the same day (it was actually my last grade.)
Has anyone's result ever actually changed between their release and the results final release date?
That was fast given you guys said a day or two
Results can't be accessed while ISIS (hmm, they should probably consider changing the name) is undergoing maintenance, can they?
Based on the last two years.

Interesting how no one has actually posted a score yet.
How come you haven't? :P

Should I be looking at results from study plan or from the uni results page? :P
Think Calc 2 might be today then?
Did you own AM2?
Wow...the jitters I got from seeing lzxnl's post about AM2 results being out...anyways..

Not third year. Although hopefully that means it's going up tommorow...
When do Physics results tend to come out?
For all those doing Phys and Anatomy subjects..... My results the past 2 years have come out on Thursday. I wonder if that means they'll come out tomorrow again?
tfw you only get 55 in a subject when you felt like you aced the exam

SERIOUSLY I sat all my exams on day 1 and 2 of exam block WHY DO I HAVE NO RESULTS YET
Finance 1 results are out. Looks like there was some (heavy) scaling in play.

Fuarkk I got lucky. There was one subject I was doing well in but then I got lazy and didn't study for a test...ended up getting like 45% (2nd lowest mark in the cohort) on that test lmao which screwed my marks (was averaging high 80s which was why I got lazy lol). Got exactly 80. Hopefully they don't amend the marks.
I got 79 on one of my subjects, is there a way to fucking bring it up one mark????I wouldn't stress it, had the same thing happen to me due to incomplete ILT's, pretty sure that averages are worked out by percentages (with transfers to different unis etc.), so unless you need a gpa for med or something it's not exactly a big deal. Plus first year counts for **** all, at the end of the day it's one subject of 24.
Congrats LeviLamp, BasicAcid and ldunn! (79% is nothing to be ashamed of.)

YAYY!!!
I hope this means that human phys and research phys is coming out soon :P
Yes! I am so happy about that. If I had to guess, I would say they added like 20 marks to my raw mark lol

Scraped in a H1 for Chemistry 2 thank GOD I thought I messed that exam badly.
Congrats! Definitely a tough subject to do well in - and judging by the past exams it's gotten harder since I did it (or maybe the 2012/13 exams were an outlier.)
All of that organic chemistry study paid off.
Ouch man, well at least they're not 49's :p
Just got a 79 then as well, looks like they're finishing up with marking, all my science subjects are back
Congrats on the great marks! I can only hope that I would have as much success as you do with 3rd year/postgrad maths subjects. And good luck with the Masters next year :)Cheers man. It's hard work but secretly a lot of fun. Sounds like your study habits are a lot better than mine were in first year.
Well, shows how much of a 'commerce' student I am. Damn finance - worst subject ever...Looks to me like you picked the right/degree major ;) those are some good comp sci/engineering grades. Congrats!
I believe all results must be in by Friday (tomorrow,) or at least I've heard similar in the past.
Hoping that by the time my plane lands tomorrow I'll be able to get all my results.
Mate, I'm really hoping so. I'm still waiting on all 3 of my science subjects LOOOOOOOOL
One of my subjects has been 'withheld with extension' for half the students so they can finish marking our assignments. We handed the assignments in in week eleven (Wednesday), over a month ago. So I only have 15% of my mark confirmed, and the highest mark I know of is a 72 :') I CAN'T DEAL WITH THE SUSPENSE D':
physiology & RBP are really late considering human phys was all MCQ and deanne marked all the RBP exams within the week we did them.

They're probably wondering why so many of you guys got H1s that they had to double check all the exams 8)
Wait what even ... since results are officially not final until Friday week does that mean they expect that they won't have marked it by then?!
Congrats El!!! Awesome job!! I heard repro was really hard so it sounds like you must have put in heaps of effort :)
Got 79 in a subject I was expecting 85+ for. Worth asking for a remark?
2 for me, man not gonna fuck around next year; get every single mark possible from now on
But at least they're not 49s, my friend got 49 in Linear Algebra, 49 in ESD2 and 50 in Calculus 2 all this semester... Probably gonna go to uni with him next week, back him up if need be and might get my own exams relooked at as well

Look, scores increasing in increments of 1 xD good job!
Thanks!! I'm sure your scores have been at the top of each subject's cohort!
About that...I don't think I'd be in the top 5% for many of my subjects...
Does anyone know what 'Ver 2' means by any chance? The Grade Description says pass but I would like to know if that means I actually passed the subject...
Does anyone know what 'Ver 2' means by any chance? The Grade Description says pass but I would like to know if that means I actually passed the subject...As far as I know, it's something internal to the university's enrolment and student records system (which is, incidentally and now hilariously, called ISIS). Major changes to a subject or course structure result in it getting a new version number. Nothing to do with how well you performed in a subject, or if you had to repeat it.

I don't think it means anything really. I've had that appear on many of my subjects as well. As long as your numerical score is 50 or above that's fine. Thanks for that!

We've gotten the same score for Genes and Environments, MCB, and now this. I think we might actually be twins.
cos it drops my GPA by 0.02.haha the horror :o
I know right! I didn't even think I'd get a H1 and I got 89.
I am now tempted to do more difficult subjects that scale well in second year because my marks in first year have been much better for subjects that scale well although they are more difficult. I don't know if this is a good idea as I don't know how scaling works in second year, it might not be directly proportional to difficulty. I planned to study so hard for physics 2 advanced but then I pretty much did none of the things I planned to do, like I didn't do that many practice problems, didn't attend so many lectures, didn't go to most tutorials etc. I really need to stop doing that shit in second year...
Probably not the best idea. I heard MIIM20001 doesn't scale and from my short experience with it I found it bloody hard. Genetics is supposedly scaled and it is apparently ridiculously easy to study for but that is just hearsay anyway :P
Genes & genomes is definitely more difficult than principles of genetics though

Are there subjects that are known to scale well? In first year it is known that accelerated maths and advanced physics scale like crazy.
I heard that stochastic processes scales very well, but don't know any other subjects.
I think I will do just what I am interested in and not worry about scaling.
Wait, so you're saying that it's the subject's coordinator's choice to decide whether a subject will scale or not? Seems a little unfair if subjects are either too hard or too easy :/
SO MANY UPS AND DOWNS, IT'S A ROLLERCOASTER
Good job to everyone this year :) You're all doing wonderfully. HSF marks are insaaaaaane, I heard the physiology exam was soul-destroying.
GERM20005 - German 4
Passed
2014, Semester 2, Parkville, On Campus Credit Points: 12.50
Mark: 75 Grade: Second Class Hons A (H2A)
I'm relieved this mark wasn't lower, really, and it doesn't bother me much (a 75 is still a good mark!, and it's somehow my lowest mark after a 63 in Calc 1), but I could rant for days about this subject, and I feel like I really need to, I'm so mad at myself for putting effort into it. BUT APPARENTLY MY GERMAN 3 AND 4 MARKS DON'T EVEN COUNT TOWARDS MY SGPA AND I'M QUITTING THE DIPLOMA, MUAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHAHAHAHAHHAWARNING: CATHARTIC SELF-INDULGENT VENTI studied so much more for this than German 3, which was no easier, and I got a mark 6 points lower despite understanding the entire course far better. I lost 3% by changing two true/false answers on an MCQ test with dubious lost-in-translation passages that were supposed to be extremely easy to understand (they were) at the last minute (the test was 10 MCQ, 6 were true or false and it was worth 15%). I lost 5% on the writing test because there was no time, and the last six answers of over twenty (forty-five minute test) were worth 40/100 marks on the test - I lost 24 marks on questions I was able to answer because the test was so short, and got 14/20. The oral (which I spent far too long preparing for) in which I answered everything confidently and got open praise from the tutors in, I ended up with 1 mark more than last semester, where I broke down crying and was unable to speak for three minutes due to hysteria. The exam, which I studied the whole course for as advised, covered almost nothing I studied except for the basic grammar, and had no opportunity to show understanding, only a blank space to write a sentence (some of the English I had to translate also didn't make grammatical sense in English @_@) or fill in a single word or ending. The assessments for this subject are terrible, and work and understanding do not correlate to your final mark. I definitely understood everything better than last semester, and I managed to answer things consistently correctly in class and while practicing at home. I put so much more effort in, when the concepts were not much harder to grasp, and got a mark 6 points lower. Lots of other students have suffered the same fate (some of them in the reverse direction, which I guess is good for them). The coordinator's changing back to normal again next year (she was on maternity leave this year), so I hope the subject returns to a stable grading structure. I'm really glad I'm quitting the diploma, the ridiculous level of uncertainty (regardless of input, effort or understanding) people have to go through in the subjects Stefan teaches is insane for such a simple course (the content was definitely easier than my science classes, and there was less of it).
BUT!
BOTA20002 - Plant Biodiversity
Passed
2014, Semester 2, Parkville, On Campus Credit Points: 12.50
Mark: 100 Grade: First Class Honours (H1)
This subject did not involve mid-semester tests or multiple choice-based assessment. I wrote an entire script book of tiny writing in the exam (160 marks of the exam were long answers), the two herbaria took days to complete properly and the two prac tests (pretty easy) were really error-prone and I am just in UTTER SHOCK I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THIS WAS POSSIBLE IN SUCH A QUALITATIVE SUBJECT. I actually can't deal with this mark at all, I would cry BUT I ALREADY DID. I can die happy, I achieved a 100 at university and I didn't think that was possible in a subject run by the botany department :')
In terms of my actual science degree, this semester has gone super-well, especially considering I only had one night to furiously study for my breadth thanks to wasting days and days earlier studying for German (which was unnecessary).

Wait, so you're saying that it's the subject's coordinator's choice to decide whether a subject will scale or not? Seems a little unfair if subjects are either too hard or too easy :/
Are there subjects that are known to scale well? In first year it is known that accelerated maths and advanced physics scale like crazy.
I heard that stochastic processes scales very well, but don't know any other subjects.
I think I will do just what I am interested in and not worry about scaling.

I just wonder what I would have gotten if I didn't overload. And if I studied as I planned before each exam.
especially considering I only had one night to furiously study for my breadth
Great marks for chem. Prac chem especially is a massive pain - it's seriously the worst subject I've studied in terms of workload. Structure and properties is a bit better, but I remember I found some sections of the course annoyingly taught.Well I spent entire weekends on prac chem reports and had to rewatch bio and biochem lectures on the train to uni. Not the most fun
In the end, the thing that kept me going in prac chem was 'I can't have done all this work and not get a H1.'
I've got no idea how you can overload with prac chem. I did prac chem + biochem techniques + UROP in one semester, was regularly up past midnight writing reports.
