Hey,
so as I have just found out the time to change your preferences is now over and after receiving 91 and wanting to go to Monash for commerce (90.3 atar) I have left Melbourne commerce (95 atar) as my first preference instead of Monash and am in the process of having a conniption. Now so i guess my question is what do i do as all offices are closed until the 5th of Jan. and will this effect if i get into Monash or not. I can't believe that after all this hard work i may have screwed my own chances.
PLEASE HELP...

Mm... Monash Commerce is your second preference, right? Do you have SEAS?
-
if monash commerce is your second preference it doesnt matter lol

no i don't have seas why? omg did i need it?
-
oh wait i did apply for seas but what does that have to do with this situation...?

Just relax. Forget about entry requirements, SEAS and ATARs for a second. Which would you prefer, Commerce at Melbourne or Commerce at Monash?
-
There's not too much to worry about.
VTAC goes down your preferences - so they'll first ask Melbourne if they'll accept you for Commerce, and if Melbourne rejects you (which is possible since you're below the guaranteed entry), you'll be passed down to Monash and seeing as how you seem to be above the clearly-in, Monash will most likely tell VTAC that they'll accept you. So no, you haven't fucked up your chances at all.
Even if Melbourne does accept you, you can make a Negotiated offer for Monash after first-round VTAC offers come out, and then you may get a second-round VTAC offer for Monash.

^ This.
I'm asking because if you don't have SEAS, then you're unlikely to be accepted for Melbourne Commerce because your ATAR is too low. Even with a "mild" SEAS, you probably won't make the cut. Meaning that if your second preference is Monash Commerce, you'll get offered Monash Commerce if you're above its clearly-in for this year.

Online - however, if the servers crash (which they probably will), you can use The Age or Herald Sun to find your offer IF you ticked the box at the start of the year that said you want them to release that information.

By distance do you mean a rural school? If you are eligible for Access Melbourne then you will most likely receive a UoM Commerce offer as anything above 88 receives a guaranteed place.

no not rural just about a solid hour from the city, but its limited or something?

also do they come out at like 7 or ...
