Bros and Broettes are you ready to make some gains in 2015?
-
Awwww yisssssss. Finally schools over (for me) and uni is ages away, I can finally start exercisinggggg. My goal is to put on 10-15kg atm. Currently 70kg at 6'1" but know so little about putting on muscle and dieting.

I've made plenty of strength gains in the past two years, so the only goal I'm setting for myself in 2015 is to get down to 8%bf or lower. I don't think that should take a whole year, but who knows.

Just going to point out that "misc" speak is not fit for this forum. (Refer to forum rules). ATAR Notes is quite strictly not a cesspool and should remain that way. We'd all do best to speak like the dignified individuals we are as we do our bicep curls in the squat rack.
Currently waking around at 72 up from 68 walking around weight. Hoping at least 1.5 of that is lean muscle, definitely feeling stronger. (So, a note to the fellow wanting to put in 10kg+ -- of fat? A few months. Of muscle? Years).
P.S. Not kidding about the misc. I will ban you and your first born child.

Alrighty then.

2015 is the year of the vastus medialis, vastus lateralis and hamstrings. Who am I kidding? Time to work on that posterior chain
-
Day 4 and I'm eating pizza maan lol. I bow down to lifting that this will feed my muscles 8) instead of becoming fat

Posterior chain... ? Cervical lymph nodes?

I was just back in the gym today after taking a break since the 23rd -- mostly because the gym was closed, but I haven't been going for runs or doing exercise of any form over that period. I was really surprised by how drastically my strength had dropped off in that period. Granted, I ate a lot of shit over the Christmas and new years period, but I wasn't expecting to lose 15-20% on basically all my lifts. How long do you reckon it'll take to get back up to form? (I've only been lifting for a year and a bit)

No I got that, it's just I've never heard the term "walking around weight" before ::)

Usually, (well, for me anyway) I'm back to normal by the 2nd or 3rd session of working a specific muscle group. I've been training for six years, but even in the early days it was never longer than that.

I lifted throughout Year 11 and stopped during June-ish last year (2014). I started lifting in mid Dec, still haven't recovered strength (yeah 20% below max weight as well) yet. But I did stop for longer than you.

Yeah this always happens. I think it literally happens to everyone. I used to miss like a week and a half at times if I had like six assignments due, and it would always really really upset me when I tried to go back and couldn't muster the same efforts. Now for the first two or so sessions I go back with no expectation, just aiming to have fun and do whatever eclectic regimen I feel like. It's normally back to normal insanely quickly.
Oh lol. Is that not a standard thing? *awkward*. It might be fighting sports specific (as people try to make different weight classes, 'walking around weight' is just throughout the day, with some food and water in belly, just 'normal' weight), but I thought it was just a 'thing'. :-[

On the plus side, I hit a 2xbw squat earlier today, so I'm feeling ecstatic. How's everyone else tracking along?

I only weight train for an accessory for track. I don't really go for 1RMs, never really tried :P
