Can someone explain to me why there is a sharp increase in blood lactate?
Any help is appreciated.

When we reach LIP (lactate inflection point) the lactate production exceed lactate removal, so the lactate is not being broken-down as it is being produced. This means that the amount of lactate being put into the blood stream increases.
Hope this helps :)

That's exactly what I needed.
Thanks a lot.
