Title: In the country of men. Need help with deciding what prompt to write about!

I have been given 2 prompts by my teacher on the book In The Country Of Men and I'm not sure which one to choose because I don't know a lot about them pls help...
The prompts are..
1- "Here its silence or exile, walk by the wall or leave."In the country of men is a story about despair rather than hope, discuss.
2- How does the narrative voice of Suleiman affect the understanding of the adult characters in the novel.
