Use the atar calculator and have a look - just remember, if you're dropping a subject and putting yourself down to 4, you have no safety net and no backup, you MUST go well in every subject you do. That's a bit of pressure!

The flipside of course is that you'll have more time to study if you do one less subject. There's no right or wrong choice.

Will your school allow you to only complete 4 subjects? Some don't allow it.

Some students are only doign 4 subjects, but they are the weaker students.
I wouldn't classify myself as the "weaker" students.
Changed my mind, going to do IT apps and just aim for 28ish as it will be my 5th subject

Why do you want to drop IT Apps? Are you finding it difficult, or boring, or is there another reason to it?

Just remember there are plenty of people on here that can assist you.

Would dropping IT and picking up a new subject either next semester or at the beginning of next year be an option? Also, are you currently doing 5 or 6 subjects?

Hmm, I see. Sorry, your grad year said 2016 so I thought you were in Year 11 and thus had the option of changing at the end of the year. While you can do well with 4 subjects I would personally stick with 5 so you have a bit of a safety net. If you're having difficulty with IT would tutoring be an option? Or perhaps asking a classmate/your teacher for some extra help?

I second sticking with IT Apps. There are PLENTY of resources online to assist with IT Applications, including this very forum. An inexperienced teacher is not an excuse for not doing any work.

You said it yourself, you don't study at all. I think throughout VCE everyone has that one subject that they find REALLY boring, and majority of them tend to suck it up and push through. I know for me, English was a major drain. With a bit of effort I think you can still do well.

It would also be good to have a 6th subject just incase to contribute to the aggregate at least. That way if you don't do as well as you would have liked in another subject, you have that as well.
