I think you first need to break down the prompt. In the prompt it states "how...", which I find important. Ask yourself why or why not family loyalty is important, if not what else is important or more important in the novel. I haven't read the book, so what I just wrote probably won't make any sense.

When it comes to writing any type of essay when you are given a prompt, it's important to understand the gist of what the prompt is asking for, and then, break down the gist of the prompt into small sub ideas, which will act as the basis of your paragraphs.

In your case your prompt seems to be about family. So, think about the concept of family loyalty  in relation to the novel; how does the novel relate to family loyalty, what are some examples of it?

Like the other user said above, you need to break down your prompt into smaller topics.

Good luck.
