Obviously, an exceedingly horrible tragedy. It raises a lot of burning and painful questions for me as well.
We don't know who perpetrated this at this stage. I wouldn't immediately jump to "Islamic Terrorism". I'm old enough to remember when people did that for the attacks in Norway and it turned out to be a single white deranged Norwegian Christian man. However, considering they attacked multiple sites and at least 6 attackers seem to be involved, it somewhat changes the dimensions.
It is somewhat hard to believe or posit that 6 ethnically French people would perpetrate an attack on a country they are so closely linked to, especially given there is no particular political trouble that would cause this (For example, the conflict in Ireland with the IRA). It thus does lead one closer to drawing the temporary conclusion they may not have been French or at least felt very close to French society.
Another question is why Paris and why again? How does this keep happening to the French people so frequently? Why does this keep happening to the French people?

One terrorist they caught admitted to being a sympathizer with ISIS, and another shouted Allah Akbar before suiciding. I just really hope these are not new immigrants, otherwise i feel sorry for all the innocent ones that wont find a home anywhere

On the BBC live stream i just heard a French journalist frame it as an attack on the French and Parisian way of life.
For context, it was about 9pm Friday night in Paris. Many people were watching the football (soccer), at cafes and at a concert. She pointed out its particularly poignant that they attacked these venues, sport, cafes and music because they so much represent French values and ways of life. Similarly, she talked about the attack on Charlie Hebdo as an attack on French values of laiciite (secularism) and freedom of speech.
----
Regarding post above me, France has a large Muslim community, many of which go into multiple generations. If we're going down the Islamic terrorist path, it may not be fresh immigrants for example.

Shizzzz this is serious...!! ...though if it were Islamic terrorists you would expect they would target brothels/pubs/casinos/porn shops etc. instead of these places wouldn't you (considering how much the religion condemns these things)?

All these places - cafes, football matches, concerts etc. are all present in muslim countries. If they were Islamic terrorists why would they attack these particular places?

The terrorists were Islamic, they were shouting Allahu Ackbar as they were killing people in their seats at the theatre. The Charlie Hebdo attacks were done by the children of Algerian immigrants, but they themselves had been born and raised in France. One French journalist was saying that suicide bombing (which is what 7 of the 8 terrorists died from) isn't really a feature of North African (where most of France's Muslim come from) but rather a Middle-Eastern thing.
As to why this keeps happening to France, in my opinion it's a combination of their large Muslim population (around 10%) and the State's involvement in Libya, Syria etc. In French society, religion has no public role, which many Muslims do not agree with. Many do of course, but they're not the ones who kill 140 innocent people.
They attack bars, cafes, concert halls because that's where people enjoy themselves, they relax with friends and make the most of life. If you can't feel safe there, where can you? The terrorists want to wipe out anything that isn't devotion to their warped idea of Allah.

The Bataclan theatre had been owned by an elderly Jewish couple who recently sold it and the theatre had been used for many Jewish and israeli events. Not sure if the attackers knew this but I would be surprised if they didn't.

The bump on this thread made me see it again in unread posts and I though for a second ANOTHER attack happened last night
