It depends. I've looked at the links you've provided but cant rly gauge much from them. While the study design has not changed , there are things that have been updated. If you go on VCAA's site they're called 'clarifications'.
The reason I bring this up is because my school used the Cambridge textbook and the edition we had had incorrect information for the WHO. The WHO stuff changed in 2015 , but textbook had the 2014 stuff. But luckily my teacher gave us some correct notes that we could use.
So, perhaps, in that regards you might want to buy the new one - to ensure you have the most up to date and accurate information.
But having said all this , I hardly ever used the textbook and wished that I didnt purchase it in the first place.I guess the only reason why I can actually say this is cause I had so many other resources that I found much more helpful.
Hope this helps! :)

I had a few resources. One that I found the MOST helpful and like I used evveryyytime was Edrolo. Idk if you've heard of it , but it is basically a site that schools (or students , I think) can purchase. It has videos that covers all the content in the subject and it is delivered by assessors. Literally used edrolo to study for HHD everytime- SACs, exams, the whole lot. It was great resource for me because I learnt nothing in class (or maybe it was cause I didn't go to class , or maybe cause my teacher was always away ::) )
Other than edrolo , my teacher would always give us these random summaries that she would buy. Idk who they were by tho.
Also I know some of my friends who swore by Andrew Beaumont (I hope that's how you spell his name) notes , so you may want to check those out. I didn't have them because the thought of going to a lecture seemed like such a hassle to me (yes , Im kinda lazy)
Hope this helps :)

My health & hd 3/4 teacher said that the new textbook will help a LOT in the exam. She says since health changes so often, a new textbook comes out about every two years, and the new textbook has all the right info we need to know for the exam. So I would recommend buying it but then again, a lot of the people in my class are sticking with the old textbook. I guess it's a weigh up of cost vs. valuable info.

From what I know, the SDGs are the biggest change, but with my post and all the original detail online (which is where the textbook authors got it from anyway) you don't actually need it, I don't think. Make sure you keep an eye on VCAA's 'clarifications', however - make sure you're aware where the changes are, and then it's generally really easy to find out the correct new information online.

Yep true - just make sure you're learning everything in the study design, and you should be fine. :)
