EDIT: Conclusion I came to in this rambly post: This is probably a muddled version of last year's scores. If you see your name, it's probably because you were published last year for a year 11 3/4 - even if the subject, school and number is now messed up. So relax guys. I've spent a long time digging round and I'm CERTAIN this is not to be believed, in the slightest. It worried me at the start though.
You've made everyone on AN absolutely frantic ::)
That's... really weird.
I've been randomly searching everyone I can think of from school/AN. I searched assuming that the scores were correct, just with subject names garbled. Spoiler gives my findings.
Spoiler
The scores were absolutely reasonable - if sadly low :( - at my school and matched up with expected names too; but for the AN peeps I've checked out, they seemed ridiculously low. Example case studies (hope it's alright to say this guys :-\): thaaanyan, says she got 40, and while I'd believe she might get that for other subjects, she definitely wouldn't for English. Again hamo: he wouldn't just get one 42. I can imagine that this is a work being updated since it's not exactly near release date yet, however, so I could imagine that both those got more 40+ scores that haven't been added. For instance - it'd make sense that English SSes haven't yet been added to the database or something.
THOUGH: I just searched and found myself in the list with accurate last year scores - but my friends from last year also had their names there, but with some garbled scores. This is ridiculous and looking more inaccurate than I thought.
I'm a little bewildered, to say the least. Even if there's some level of truth to them (... pretty sure there could be), they're obviously jumbled, definitely incomplete and probably inaccurate.
That website is cooked. It said only a few kids from my old school got 40+, in subjects the school doesn't offer, but plot twist: no one with those names goes to my old school so the site is cooked LOL
I think the 'search by school' function is broken/not yet coded properly - but if you search for individuals, it says they go to the right schools. There's every possibility of cooking, but there's also a possibility that it's being currently re-coded and thus has a mixture of right, wrong and last year too. Moral: you simply can't trust it, so don't.
Hey, sudden thought: is this only people who scored 40+ in a 3/4 last year, with added jumbling? I'm suddenly feeling like that could be it. Once I think back, the 2015'ers I found at the school definitely scored 40+ last year (even if the number wasn't the same). Taking the thaaanyan/hamo case studies, both were probably published last year for one subject, even though the number (for thaaanyan) isn't correct and the subjects definitely aren't.
I'm pretty sure that's right, now I think about it!!!!
If anyone is on there without having been published last year, let me know!
I've emailed the Herald Sun but obviously don't expect a response - if I get any I'll let you know, though.
Sorry this is a rambling post, it was all my different ideas as they came as I dug round more!
