My class recently has been talking about macro/meso/microsetting with regards to This Boy's Life. I was told by my teacher that Hill is the backdrop for the microsetting of Jack and his relationship with rules (which is obviously not a good one), but me and another member of my class identified it as a mesosetting because the teacher listed it as such when explaining the concept.
So the question is this: how would you use Hill as a mesosetting without the use of the Jack + rules microsetting, if it's possible?
