Title: Need Clarification: Line of Best Fit.
Post by: squance on September 05, 2009, 02:34:19 am: If I have a set of data which when graphed on some axis becomes a parabola and I have to draw a line of best fit/trend line, would that be just a linear line? Or will it be a curved line of best fit? Im confused.........

Post by: /0 on September 05, 2009, 03:26:46 am: If you have data of the form $y = kx^2$ then I think if you let $Y=y$ and $X=x^2$ , you can graph $Y = kX$ and then use a line of best fit to find $k$ .
