Is there anyone out there who did a combination of English and English Language and could possibly let me know what the workload was like and the results you achieved? Cheers

Can't comment on English Language but I'm currently doing English and Literature. Generally I find the workload quite manageable but my English teacher doesn't assign a great deal of homework and my literature teacher is the complete opposite - lots and lots of work. This will of course vary school to school. Something you might want to consider however is when your classes are scheduled. I have English and Literature on the same day and on Fridays which is directly after the other. It personally doesn't bother me but it can be a bit hectic on SAC days - a lot of writing.
On the plus side though, you get lots of practise writing which helps with speed, expression, etc. If you love English taking both definitely shouldn't be an issue for you :)

I did English Language and Literature for a little while and found the workload manageable. The type of work you're expected to do for EngLang is completely different to English/Literature, so much so that they can hardly be put in the same box. I think they'll complement each other really nicely, to be perfectly honest. :)
