Title: Definition of lexical patterning

What do we talk about when the question asks to identify "lexical patterning" in the text. Confused because the study design does not specifically state what it is.

I'm answering this more from a Linguistics perspective than an Englang one, but "lexical patterning" is a bit of an umbrella term to describe various types of text-cohesion-markers. They're listed in this book fairly conclusively:
