Welcome to the 6th instalment of ATAR Notes' Ask Me Anything series!
Tonight we'll hear from the lovely heidi, formerly known as bangali_lok! Heidi is one of our awesome nat mods who is well known for her very kind nature and has been seen offering help in every corner of the forum (even IRC!). Below this paragraph you'll find an extract written by heidi about her own adventure so far. It is definitely a unique one, and the wisdom she has to offer is just waiting to be tapped into!
Here's what she had to say:
I finished VCE in 2014, doing HHD, Bio, English, Texts&Traditions, and Methods (ask me about any except Methods!) Since then, I haven't had a clear path; I've tutored, trained in aged care at TAFE, worked in dementia care, done a semester of nursing at Monash, faced various serious mental health issues [I don't mind any questions whatsoever about this]. I'm passionate about being there for others when they're struggling, learning and growing, reading and writing, piano-playing and music, mental health, philosophising way too deeply, the weirdest random acts of kindness, and just fkn loving people haha. I'm hoping one day I'll use my experiences to help others who are vulnerable or struggling in some way. :)
Without further ado, let's get straight into the action and ask some questions. Please take advantage of this thread while it's still up as the AMAs do not last forever!
Have a nice day!

[18:26] <heidi> I didn't realise how blessed I've been to have a couple of days of peace from HighTide_
Have I missed something, how long will it take before this very kind natured Heidi appears!?!
FallingStar, will answer later. :)
1. Do you have any inspirational quotes for us?
About ten million LOL, I'm a quotes junkie.
Spoiler
No matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. - Angelou
Try to be a rainbow in someone else's cloud. - Angelou
Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart. - Jobs
It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. - Confucius
Do not go where the path may lead, go where there is no path and leave a trail. - Emerson
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less travelled by,
and that made all the difference. - Frost
This is no time for ease and comfort. It is time to dare and endure. - Churchill
So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about. - Monroe
You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go... - Dr Seuss
The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater. - Tolkein
I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow; but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing. - Agatha Christie
And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about. - Murakami
Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers, but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but for the heart to conquer it. - Tagore[/quote]
2. Why are you so inspiring?
Because I present a carefully curated internet image which carefully hides (many of) my flaws and only presents exaggerated good qualities. :)
3. What is the most awe-inspiring book you've read?
Hmmmmm.... I think The Lord of the Rings (the book).
So many other though... Anna Karenina and War and Peace, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, first-world-war fiction or memoirs, second-world-war memoirs, Man's Search for Meaning, and biographies or autobiographies of crazy people who have done crazy things or just been incredibly awesome - such as Mother Teresa or Dr Ida Scudder or William Carey and the list goes on.
Pretty much, books where the human spirit rises and shows its incredible nobility above and beyond what is required despite crushing struggles.
Heidi, why no more weekly newsletter anymore :(
They were amazing, need a Resurrection.
Btw, scariest mod?
Because I was drastically over-committed at the time and I'm hopeless at doing anything useful nowadays. :)
Me. Durrrrr.
What is the worst film you have seen at the cinemas?
Um. Well. This is awkward. I have... never... been... to... the... cinemas... LOOOOOL.
