Victoria (VCE) - Post your ATAR and SS predictions here (then compare to the actual results)
Class of 2016
So, only 4 days separate most of you from Doomsday.
Except for SACE students like myself, who need to wait until the 20th :/
Title says it all, post your predictions then come back here on the 12th
My Predictions
Specialist Maths: 18.8
Math Studies: 19
Chemistry: 19.6
Physics: 17.4

Pretty hard to say, and tbh since I really started talking school work seriously around year 9 (haha how's that for sad), I tend to over think it a lot and underestimate myself (E.g. This time last year I was excepting ~35 for bio, and thought there was no way i'd crack 40+), but here it goes:
English: 36 (Was never confident with English, but surely at least 35+ if I was getting ~90s for SACs)
Specialist: 33 (wanted 38 so badly :'( , but made so many stupid exam mistakes)
Methods: 38 (Really wanted 40+, but again, stupid mistakes :( )
Chem: 37 (Felt pretty good about exam apart from 7 mark prac question, but unit 3 results weren't that up there so I'm not expecting 40+)
Physics: 33 (Stuffed exam pretty badly, but not too worried as I'm not even expecting it to count)
ATAR: AN calc says 95 exactly (which is the exact clearly in I actually need for commerce at Melb :o , but obviously this could vary, and I'm also not sure how much my VET increment from yr 10 will help the results).
Either way, fingers crossed at least 95 :) Also sorry for all the commentary, it just helps me think it through and predict
-
English Language: 36
Methods: 39
Spesh: 38
Physics: 44
Chem: 42
+ IT Apps: 44
+ R&S: 40
ATAR: 98.35
Would like a bit higher to safely net a scholarship from Monash, but we'll see how it goes on Monday. I was actually pretty composed and calm knowing I'd receive my results on Monday, but after the atar leaks I've been getting really nervous.
-
Hey guys - get involved with this! There will be a NSW one coming later for the HSC students. Follow any format you like (use the posts above as some sort of guide)
Get posting ;) P.S - If you already received your results from the SMS stuffup, you can also post your actual results (and then pretend you're a psychic on Monday).
-
English: 27
Biology: 39
Methods: 36
Chemistry: 45
Systems Engineering: 38
Atar: 88.5

My predicted scores are:
English Language: 36
Physical Education: 38
Methods: 35
Specialist: 31

ATAR: 92.55
Overall, I'm disappointed as my goal for 2016 was 96.00, oh well :-\
-
here's mine, I managed to receive mine via SMS
Subject - ACTUAL (predicted)
English - 34 (35)
Methods - 42 (45)
Specialist - 39 (40)
Physics - 41 (45)
Chemistry - 40 (45)
Monash Uni Maths Extension - 4.5 (4.0)
ATAR - 97.30 (~98.50)
guess I was a little overconfident which lead to mild disappointment, but in the end I'm happy
-
My predicted scores:
Biology: 43
Methods: 36
Literature: 43
(+ 2015 Further Maths: 45)
ATAR: 95.05.
Here's hoping 2017 will be a better year!
-
Japanese: 43(+ hopefully)
Psychology: 41
Philosophy: 39
Hoping for higher but ...!
~Actual~
Japanese: 50 blessssssssss
Psychology: 43
Philosophy: 36
To be perfectly honest these were my predictions according to calculations of SS and all that but I desperately wanted higher. I wasn't so confident with psychology so a 43 seems reasonable. It doesn't put me in much stead though. I am pretty disappointed with philosophy. Didn't think I'd bomb the exam so hard and 36 is definitely under what I hoped to get by all means. Japanese doesn't need to be mentioned - just glad redoing actually came with merit.
Anyway an interesting result. Just means I've still gotta bust my gut for the next couple of years!
-
Physics - 38 to 42 (shit the bed too hard lul)
CSL - 35
-

My predicted ATAR from atarcalc was about 94, with my predictions of 40 for physics, 36 for literature, 37 for chem, and 32 for methods.
Actual results:
chem 37, physics 36 (I have no idea about the moderation done on this, I ended up with a B+ for a unit I had 100% on), lit 36, methods 34
With an ATAR of 94.25

HHD 36 RAW - A, A, B+ (annoyed about the exam, and it scales down, which sucks
)
But overall I'm happy!
P.S. Does anyone know when the high achievers are published in Herald Sun and online??

If past years are anything to go off by, they should be published tomorrow.
