Hi guys! So I was enrolling for my course in uni, and It's asking for my TFN for the commonwealth support, but I don't have a TFN. Can't I use my parents for the time being? Or do I need to apply one for myself since I'll have to pay back at the end? Wouldn't applying for it take too long?

I don't think you're allowed to use your parents; it has to be your TFN.
So now's a good time to get cracking and get a TFN.
Also; after you've applied/lodged an application for a TFN, I think you get like a reference number or something (I can't remember what it's called gahhhh) and I think the uni's will let you supply that in lieu of your actual TFN for the time being while you wait to get your actual TFN.

It has to be yours, because you are financially liable for that debt. Apply for it ASAP.

Just to add, if it's anything like my uni, you've got a fair bit of time before it needs to be there - UNSW requires it by the census date which is usually in March. So no reason to worry. That said, still jump on it ASAP! ;D

Alright, thx guys!
