Hi All,
I thought I would post on here because I have been struggling with answering the extended response part of tests/sacs. I can't seem to grasp what it is asking or put the English into a mathematical concept. Are there any tips that you could give me in terms of starting them and ensuring that I am doing them correctly? Any help would be much appreciated! :)

I would underline / write out important information.
See what they want you to find - underline this or write it out
See what information they've given you - underline or write this out
Draw a diagram if applicable - this can really help you visualise it
See what information you need + write any relevant equations - they will give you all the information to figure it out.
If you have any questions or would like a more specific example, don't hesitate to ask :)

Hey Dylan :D
basically relate it to something you have studied for the sac/exam, also for methods Its quite safe to assume that all the information given can be used to solve for the question (rarely do they give you something that is not usable in the question - although chem does this).
In my summary book for both spec and methods I had stuck in a copy of the study design for any instance I was completely stuck on a quesiton. Just so that I could run through the study design and try to find some links.
As for VCAA they can only access you on stuff that is on the study design.
If you are completely stuck at least write down a few lines of working that you may be sure or unsure of 1-2/3 is better than 0/3 :)

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you Dylan. I think maybe when you find a question difficult you should underline it and try to get the maths equation with the key words. If you're still finding it difficult, there's tones of websites online, and tones of smart people on atar notes. Good luck, you can do it :)
