Hey guys
I'm finally ready to make my VTAC application. For the following question "Have you attempted/completed Year 12 study?", do we write yes or no?
Cause if I write Yes, it asks "What year will you/did you complete Year 12?" and i wrote 2009. It then asks for details such as school name, student number etc. When I completed all the other details for that section, a message comes up saying "As you have been classified a non-year 12 on the registration, you are unable to enter the year of 2009".
If I write No, it doesn't ask about my Year 12 details. ???
Any advice would be helpful.
To get a better idea of what im talking about, go to
http://www.vtac.edu.au/demos.html
and click the "course application" demo

are you only testing this out on the demo version or is this problem happening on the real application?
I'm pretty sure they set up the demo as a 2010 application so that it didn't conflict with the 2009 real applications. When you enter YES and then 2010 in the demo version it works fine. When you do your real application you should be able to enter YES and then 2009 and it should work.

The question, ""Have you attempted/completed Year 12 study?" means, "Have you completed a Unit 3+4 subject in a year other than 2009?" You completed Methods in 2008, so you tick "Yes" and provide 2008 as the year. VTAC will deal with the rest (ie. find out which subject you completed).
EDIT: If you completed another 3+4 subject in another year other than 2008 and 2009, the same question will appear again and you just select another year. If not, then select "No" when the question appears for the second time.

What do I do if i clicked 'No' to that one, but i Did complete a 3/4 subject last year?

1. Sign into VTAC.
2. Find the sub-heading Course application & information.
3. The fifth link should be called View/change study claims.
4. Click on that link.
5. Click Add a new year 12 claim.
After that follow the instructions to let VTAC know that you've completed a 3+4 subject in a year other than 2009.

slightly off topic, but does one have to pay again if they change their preferences in november/december ?

The $5 that you have to pay is if you need to change only your personal details or educational history such as study claims.

Thanks man!
I went to change the information as you instructed but it looked like this:
Secondary (Year 12) studies
Claim 1 Claim verified - locked
Country: Australia in 2009
State: VIC
Student number: ***
Claim 2 Claim verified - locked
Country: Australia in 2008
State: VIC
Student number: ***
Does this mean I already had a year 11 (in 2008) 3/4 claim included? Or is that what everyone has for completing 1/2s?

It means that you're telling VTAC that you've completed one or more Unit 3+4 subjects in 2008 and 2009 in Australia. If that's what you want, then you've done it right. :D
