Hey,
I'm planning to get a new laptop, should I get a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming Laptop or the 2017 Macbook Pro? Also, If there are other good laptops <2k for school, please recommend :D.

Don't spend money on gaming laptops, they're a total waste. There are huge issues with performance degradation and there are unjustifiable price premiums for their novelty. You're honestly better off building your own gaming PC (easily possible to build or even buy a good one for ~$1000) and then having a simple laptop for schoolwork.

Doesn't your school have a (managed) bring your own device / lease-to-own program? If they don't, that's weird.
Will this laptop be for both personal + school use, or do you see this as something you will take/use for school and that's it? If it's purely for school, i wouldn't spend anywhere near that 2k suggestion.
I wouldn't touch a macbook with a 10 foot pole, unless you're doing media or some form of art. Completely overpriced rubbish imo.

Im using the laptop for school and games. I guess macbook wouldnt be able to handle games haha, ill get the gaming laptop probably. The only reason im not building a pc is because im quite the casual gamer so i wouldnt really need a setup. I usually just get home from school do some homework and go play 1-2 games of league and that's pretty much it. I still want a decent laptop just because i might try other games out. So thanks for the reply guys! I think ill take the dell. ;D

Still wouldn't recommend a gaming laptop, they're usually bricks unless you get something like a razer blade and have horrendous battery life. Also, bringing laptops that a greater than or are 15" around are a hassle because of the size (well at least imo). I have a Dell XPS 13 which you could consider. League isn't a performance intensive game, so PC's without GPU's (or that aren't designed for gaming) can easily run it smoothly anyway. imo if you are looking for a laptop for school you should focus on
a) battery life
b) weight
because gaming potential just makes the laptop heavier and battery life decrease unless it's constantly charging.
If you're still looking for a laptop with potential gaming capability, try the razer blade 14" (if it isn't too expensive).

I bought an Alienware gaming laptop almost 5 years ago, and it was literally the worst investment I could have ever made.
Gaming laptops are terrible, they shouldn't even be called laptops, battery life is awful, and performance really isn't that much better then their PC counterparts. You'll spend your entire time with the charger in the laptop then you'll start forgetting about it and you'll end up damaging the battery cells greatly reducing battery life. I had a friend who used to bring his Alienware to school and he ran out of battery after 1 hour (so only enough for 1 period) it was hilarious ;D seeing him carrying this 5 kg brick around school. ;D
As has been mentioned by others, a custom built PC is the way to go. For school I guess a mac would do, although I'm a PC guy..... Dell has some pretty decent laptops for schooling, i've been using my Dell Inspiron 11 for the last 3 years and it's been great. The newer Inspirons are pretty good too.
