There are apparently big storms coming for Melbourne. Like, big.
Storms make me anxious. Like, very.
I actually really enjoy storms when I know I'm safe, secure, and practically nothing can go wrong. For example, watching storms from the eighth floor of an apartment building in Malaysia. Great fun.
But I don't like them around my house.
Your thoughts?
-
Yes. When i'm not driving or having to walk in them, sure :) It's so nice to lay on a bed and listen to the rain/storm. Can't really explain it but it's so relaxing
When I have to drive home in peak hour during a storm... mmm.. not so much.
I dread tomorrow afternoon.
-
Yeah, I can get how they could be relaxing under certain circumstances. Do you live in a bushy area, Aaron?

No. Very built up. I take freeways etc to work and back every day and on a regular day the traffic is terrible... so I can't imagine how bad it's going to be if it starts pouring on the way home.

If i'm locked up in my room, then yes i don't mind storms. Otherwise, they're pretty disturbing IMO

I'm literally shaking thinking about what it's going to be like lel.
Ho hum.

They kinda fuck with my anxiety, so I don't really enjoy them.

I love when it's stormy outside and I'm inside, nice and warm, with some hot tea. The perfect time to rest.
Even better is being at the beach during storm. Over the past few summers, I'd always travel to the beach and walk on the beach (sometimes alone, sometimes with someone), go swimming, or if lucky enough, watch the lightning strike the water near the horizon.

I actually love storms. *Especially* if they bring a cool change, I feel like they release so much tension and stress I've built up during hot weather. Love being outside during a storm, so alone and wild and dark and free. Sorry for the folks who find 'em freaky, but I'm really looking forward to this coming storm having the opposite effect on me. :P

I’d say I’m the same. I like the cosiness of a storm; sitting on the couch, listening to the thunder and the rain, while reading a good book and drinking tea. But if I’m outside in it, I hate it.

Glad I’m not the only one! With all this talk about flash flooding, my anxiety is literally sky-rocketing!

Storms are fun! It's like a sci fi movie, but irl.

I absolutely love love love rain/storms. It's like something built into me that when I am in the water, or it is raining, I am happiest

If you're watching the movie, sure. Not if you're the main character.

Depending on the type of storm, I love being outside during one if I had an umbrella. Heavy hailstorms are the absolute best, however I do get anxious when walking through a thunderstorm and see purple streak across the grey sky. Being at home during a storm is also nice, except for when the power goes out during a thunderstorm.

I love hearing storms pass-by when I'm in my room, it's relaxing/calming.
I also love to run around in the rain, as long as it isn't that heavy- I don't know why I like it haha. :)

I love storms when I'm at home or walking in them. I dislike storms when I'm in car or on public transport. I hate storms when I'm out camping trying to set up my tent in the rain. >:(
On that note, my little brother is currently on the Great Victorian Bike Ride 😂
