I expect this too.I'd better fire up my time machine then
Me!!! 😉😎
Who's coming??
Me!!! 😉😎Are you only going to be at the ancient and modern history lectures susie??
Super excited <3 If you're from the forum make sure to come and say hi during the breaks! Always really lovely to meet people irl!
Also, who is running the advanced english, general maths and business studies lectures??If you click into the links they tell you who's gonna be lecturing those subjects
Are you only going to be at the ancient and modern history lectures susie??I'm only running the ancient and modern lectures, but I'll be floating around outside some of the others :)
I'm only running the ancient and modern lectures, but I'll be floating around outside some of the others :)Keen to meet you and debate further susie hahaha
Hope to see you there Mada438!
Are these lectures going to be the same content as the ones that were available in October? Kinda tossing up whether going to these would be useful as I went to all of the ones for my subjects in October as well...In general, definitely not because we don't want to defeat the purpose of another lecture
Keen to meet you and debate further susie hahahaHmmm definitely see your dilemma! Of course, every single lecture will be amazing (though I am obviously biased aha), so you can't make a bad decision no matter which way you swing it! I'd say, pick the subjects that you are either a) the most passionate about, or b) you're struggling with the most, so you can get the most out of the day :)
But i'm a bit torn. Because i live in the blue mountains, to get to the lectures at UTS is an hour and a half on the train alone ONE WAY so its not worth heaps and heaps of trips, and given you're doing lectures for 5 of my 6 subjects, i'm torn about which ones to pioritise!! :-\ :-\

Kinda tossing up whether going to these would be useful as I went to all of the ones for my subjects in October as well...Can't speak for all of the other lectures, but Modern (which I noticed is in your subject list! ;) ) will be more focused on skills this time around :) We'll be doing a quick bit of revision for the last two section of the WW1 syllabus (the ones people forget aha), then launching straight into how to maximise your marks in multiple choice/short answer, the source analysis, how to adapt to different sources, essay structure, the different types of essays, how to develop a strong thesis, etc. etc. :) All the stuff you need to know to smash your first set of proper exams! :)

I do think missing out on Advanced English would be a shame though - Emily, the lecturer, came first in the state in 2016 with 100%! So if you can make it to that one, it'd definitely be worth it!

Only because im pretty confident with it. I got 25/25 for my source based ww1 exam last term!! (Doing you proud! :) )
I'm most passionate about the business studies and modern history ones, but they're so far from the english and maths ones!No hard feelings! And 25/25 that's fantastic!! Very well done :)
It's a shame, i'd like to see you deliver an awesome modern history lecture!! :)
I think i might go on the 16th, because i can go to the advanced english and general maths ones (probably the two subjects im worst at hahahaha)

Not actually sure where i'd post something like this, but i think it would be great if there were lectures for the more "lesser known" subjects. For example: society and culture-i'd absolutely love a lecture for society and culture! :)
It doesn't have to be run by all the bigger admins. moderators and other lecturers, they could be run by some of us! the people on the forum who love their subjects!! ;D
We've been getting lots of requests for Society and Culture - It is definitely something we are considering to maybe do in the future :) lots of pieces need to fall into place to offer a lecture for a new subject, there's reasons we can't do more even though we'd love to - But keep your fingers crossed ;DIf it'd help, i bet we could gather a bunch of SAC students (me included ;) 8) )to help it to "fall into place" to offer the lecture, or even run it? Idk? But im happy to help!
