No worries Just another student happy to help out.

In terms of the cx cas, I got mine from calculator king as my school had a deal with them that included a charging cable + calculator wallet for the cx cas. They're currently selling them for $219 for all of that which I think is way too expensive to be investing in a cx cas. Really, you should only be paying around $150 max as the calc hasn't been updated in the last 5-7yrs at least.

I'd suggest getting something like this on eBay https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TI-Nspire-CX-CAS-CALCULATOR-with-pouch-charging-cord-very-good-Condition/372187908807?hash=item56a820cac7:g:ZekAAOSww85aUuJM as it has all the necessary parts including a pouch and charging cord. Also, you do not have to get the calculator first-hand. As long as you get the cx cas, even if it is an older model as indicated by the last letter on the back of the calculator, then it would still be fine as you can update it to the latest software and get everything you need via TI Computer Link https://education.ti.com/en/products/computer-software/ti-nspire-computer-link.

Good luck with your search,

James

EDIT: Also I think you've posted in the wrong forum and this needs to be moved by a mod to the VCE Maths forum so it is relevant to the topic discussed here

I got my calculator for ~$150-170 brand new from some random seller on ebay who had many of these calculators - and they were Australian stock. The only problem was that they gave some dodgy photocopied receipt for warranty. (why the hell would officeworks accept a photocopied receipt?) so it pretty much didn't come with warranty. That was the only problem

It’s probably too late for you, but for anyone else reading this, if you ask at the end of the year there will probably be some year 12s willing to sell you theirs cheap - at least it means you know where it’s coming from, not from some dodgy person online.

Often you can get them from the Year 12s at school, for instance I got mine from last year's DUX for only about $150, since you probably won't use them after Year 12 ;P

Adding onto this. I do believe that some schools have a Chaplaincy Committee or other community-run committee/group (e.g. Parents and Friends) that run 2nd hand calculator/book sales. Might be worth looking into that too and checking whether your school has one (or something similar) of these. :)

Not always possible since there is a high chance of DUCES tutoring after year 12 :p
