Hi, I wanted to enroll for the standard lecture... however it clashes with mathematics extension 1 lecture and I decided to buy the advanced lecture ticket instead to compensate... however I just realised that advanced and standard have different module syllabus... now if I attend the advanced lecture, am I going to get roughly the same content or any content relevant for me at all (apart from the area of study)

hi!
i only went to the trials lectures last july, and found that the lectures focused more on the area of study + different skills required in english (reading, creative, and essay writing). the main similarity with modules in advanced and standard is the close study of text (called something different in advanced which i can't remember) but the other two modules are quite different.
hope this helps :-)

Hey, thanks for telling me... it is called critical study of texts where in standard it is close study of text...... now why did you say that advanced module a and c differs from that of standard (just out of curiosity)... and are there any similarities between them?

no worries :-) one difference is advanced only needs one related for module C, whereas standard needs a related for both modules A and C. the topics are different as well, as advanced does a comparative study of texts for module A, while standard does distinctively visual or distinctive voices, which is really different! saying standard's module C is similar to advanced's is also a bit of stretch.
personally, i don't think it's worth going to the advanced lecture and staying until the modules, because you might confuse yourself - maybe just the area of study will do?
have a great time at the lectures, they're really awesome and such a great learning tool!

Hey all!
the difference between standard and advanced is the middle block of content, where we go through the units and skills specific to the the two other courses. Otherwise, the first third on discovery and the second third on creative are the same. I probably will make them quite different next lecture series though, as there will be greater focus on the modules coming up to trials :)
