Hi everyone,
I've recently received an offer for the Bachelor of Laws (Honours). I was just wondering is it possible to do well (D's and HD's) without any background in law from high school? What is the workload like? I've read that doing a double degree (eg with commerce, global studies or biomed) with law makes it much more manageable compared to a single law degree, is this true? Also would I be able go on exchange for a semester in a single law degree?
I know this is quite subjective but any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated, thanks! :)

Hey there!
Congrats on getting an offer for Monash Law!!!
1) It is definitely, 100% possible to do well without any background in Law from high school (i.e. VCE Legal Studies). Legal only really helps with the first few weeks of Foundations of Law; but even then, everything you need to know is taught from scratch anyway (hence why Legal isn't a prerequisite) :)
2) You will find that the majority of people will be doing Law as a double degree, and in my opinion, this does make things more manageable (as you aren't completing 4 Law subjects at once). However, it certainly isn't impossible, as there are people that do it.
3) You most certainly can go on exchange - including at Monash's campuses in Italy and Malaysia :)

Thanks for that! Do you know if it's likely for me to receive a second round offer for any Law double degree?
