Title: HSC Business Studies -- Memory Lists

Hey Everyone!

This topic thread is dedicated to making sure each and every one of you can remember the Business Studies syllabus as much as possible. I recommend we do this through the use of memory lists, where you submit funny, stupid and outright ridiculous ways you remember the headings under the syllabus.

Use the first letter of the word to either make up a memorable acronym or sentence. Submit your ideas here, and share your creativity!

I have been putting an emphasis on making analogies and mnemonics for Business Studies this year (I am a Yr11 doing Accelerated Business), especially in Marketing as that is our current topic, so here are the best ones I have for the Role of Marketing.

Strategic Role of Marketing

Prime Ministers Can't Eat Bland Salads

Where:
Prime= Price Maximisation
Ministers = Market Share
Can't = Choice
Eat = Employment
Bland = Brand Awareness
Salads = Standard of Living

I also have an analogy for the Types of Markets for anyone who has read or watched the Hunger Games Trilogy :)
In the Hunger Games, the Districts go from District 12 ( the mining district,  a Resource Market ) to the Capitol ( basically the consumer Market )
District 6 is a transport district ( An industrial Market )
District 5 is a power supply district ( A mass market )
District 1 is a luxury item maker and retail district ( A niche, intermediate market )

I hope these help someone out one day. I have heaps more but these are my favourite!  ;)
