Hi,
I am going through the subject enrollment process (1st year science) now and there's a bit on the subject rules that I don't really get.
In the study plan I see this:
All of the following rules must be satisfied:
Between 62.5 and 87.5 points of level 1 Science
Between 62.5 and 87.5 points of level 2 Science
Between 25 and 50 points of level 3 Science
No more than 37.5 points at level 1 from any single discipline
No more than 150 points of level 1 and 2 Science
No more than 112.5 points of level 1 and 3 Science
No more than 112.5 points of level 2 and 3 Science
The bit I don't get is the:
No more than 112.5 points of level 1 and 3 Science
No more than 112.5 points of level 2 and 3 Science
This means that if I do 6 first year science subjects (75 points), I will only be able to do 3 third year science subjects (37.5 points) ?
Seems really weird as I thought a major usually has 4 core third year subjects that must be taken.
Do we not have to follow the rules or something..?
Sorry if it's a stupid question ;d,, appreciate any help
thanks~

Hi there.
The rules that u highlighted does not apply to the 4 core 3rd year subjects. There is a different section below that will reflect that. The one you're looking at will apply to the elective 3rd year subjects in your major.
So for ex: i'm majoring in physiology. The 4 core subjects of that major will not follow the rules u mentioned and will have a special section below. If I take a 3rd year pharmacology and chemistry subject, they would reflected under the rules mentioned.
Haha it's alright to ask. There are a few 3rd years that are still confused over the point rules.

Thanks so much for the helpp dddknight
I also have another question :o
Am I able to study one of the two breadth subjects thats originally allocated for 2nd year and do it in sem 1 of year 1?
So I would have sem 1: science, science, breadth, breadth
sem 2: science, science, science, breadth (all level 1 subjects)
and I will do four level 2 science subjects in sem 1 of my 2nd year and normal subjects for sem 2.
Looking at the course rules this seems possible.. ?
Sorry I'm dumb and have many questions hahaa
Will be really helpful if anyone could help

From my experience, there's nothing wrong. You can even do level 2 or 3 subjects in year 1 if u feel like it. All that matters is that the rules are satisfied :)
