I know there is a shuttle bus that runs between Monash Clayton and Caulfild, leaving each Uni every 25 mins. BUt how long does the trip take?
-
dude go to huntingdale station and take a train to caulfield, it takes like 15-20mins
-
clayton campus is too far from train station
-
and the shuttle bus is free (i'm almost certain), and goes directly from each campus
-
Yeah, the shuttle is free for Monash students, and goes directly from one Uni to the other. But yeah, i was just wondering how long it takes :P
-
WELL...it's not free unless you had a community card last year.
It should take less time than taking a bus/walking to Huntingdale (yes, it is walking distance) and training it to Caulfield.
As for how long...10-15 minutes I'd say. Never been on there though.
-
going by car its about 15-20 mins during alright traffic but then again princess highway gets pretty congested at times.
-
is there a shuttle bus between clayton and berwick??
-
Take the smart bus
-
I went to the Open Day.
The bus is not free. You need a community card. I'm not sure how much that costs.
The bus, off-peak, took about 15 minutes. Faster than I expected, and we stopped at virtually every single red light on the way there.
Of course, in peak times, you would expect a longer travel time.
-
Ah awesome. Oh and about the cost of the shuttle bus:
In 2008, Shuttle Buses will be free of charge to passengers with a valid Monash University student or staff card.
Taken from the Monash website. http://www.monash.edu.au/campuses/metro/shuttle.html
And yes, there is one from Clayton to Berwick, just not as often. It on that site.
Haha everything is except for traveling times =___=

It cost about $200 or so. It was effectively a subscription to the student union post-VSU.

Free now!!??!
Damn, I would have counted on it taking me around to the city had I went to Monash.
I bet they'll charge soon, demand will mean it costs Monash far too much.

How to get to clayton from melb uni?

How to get to clayton from melb uni?
Go to the nearest station (Melbourne Central). Take the train to Clayton (Pakenham or Cranbourne line).

how to get from the station to clayton campus? i though it was quite far, and what if i get off at "huntingdale" station? would that be too far? cos thats in zone1, and clayton station is in zone2
-
well from huntingdale station u can't really take a bus directly to monash uni or u'll have to walk to north road and that area is weird around there with all those bridges and streets turning everywhere. the best way is to either take a bus from oakleigh station cause all the buses r around that station. take bus 802 or 804 or 862 from oakleigh station to monash uni. OR u can take the train to clayton station then walk to near the newsagency and take the bus 631 that goes to monash uni.
-
There's also the 703 and 733(?) from the news agency. One says Blackburn. The 631 should say Waverley Gardens, if it says Southland you're going the wrong way. Grab something to eat while you're waiting for the bus. :D
From Huntingdale there's the 630, but I think you'll end up walking quite a bit to get to it.
-
Toothpick: I'm not sure if you've ever caught the 630 from Huntingdale station, but the bus stop is under 100m from the train station exit. :)
-
Nope, never. Haha, time to shut my mouth.
-
well every one is correct here with the 703,733,631 from or take bus from oakleigh or take 630 from huntingdale. so yeah wateva CHOOSE ONE lolz
-
thx u guys very much !!
taking bus 802 or 804 or 862 from oakleigh station should be the fastest and cheapest yeh?
less time to wait for bus?
-
not sure check the metlink website and check timetables and stuff for those buses and then ull c which one is the fastest lolz...
-
what is the buses like around 4PM (peak?) can i trust it to get me to monash on time 4 enhancement or am i just going to sit idle in the traffic (aka carpark?)
-
i dont think melb traffic is ever that bad
-
bus 900 to caulfield stops at huntingdale station.
also bus reliability depends on which bus u take. some busses are always within 5 minutes of their predicted arrival and some... just don't come at all (e.g. 888/889 - don't take these buses ever, never on time).

bah, don't trust 802/804 ... I've taken it about 3 times, first time it came too early so I missed it, 2nd time it was really late so I missed it and ended up almost missing my monash med interview, and 3rd time it just didnt bother turning up at all ><
the station for bus 900 is about 10 metres closer to huntingdale station than the 630 :D (I'm lazy ok)
-
802/804 go to where I want to go but :P
900 (and any other smart bus route) are awesome in that they are always on time =D And so bloody frequent =D
-
LOL Mel ;p
