Title: How do you structure your analytical commentaries?
Post by: Joseph41 on May 16, 2018, 08:35:46 am
There seems to be a bit of a split in the EngLang community as to the best way to structure analytical commentaries.
When I did EngLang, I used the subsystem approach, and that's what I'm most familiar with. But a big part of that was the fact that my year was the very first year that the analytical commentary existed, and basically nobody knew what they were doing lol.
If I had my time again, I'd use the big idea approach - so, looking at things like function, social purpose, register and so on, and dividing the paragraphs that way.
