I made a post about this recently, but have decided to dedicate an entire thread to it. ;D
On the ATAR Notes - VCE Facebook page, we've started a "Battle of the VCE Subjects" initiative. It's just a bit of fun - basically, we've taken 32 VCE subjects, and want you to vote on them, round by round, until we've found our ultimate VCE subject. 8)
You can vote according to whatever criteria you like! In this thread, banter away, my friends, about what subjects you think should win. I'll update you all as voting progresses, too. :)
Here was the initial draw:

Which subject are you gunning for, Aaron? I reckon Bio and Methods will both get up in round two, and their subsequent match-up will be a ripper.

If the people doing spesh need me to help them win then they suck, so I'll give a sympathy vote to further :D
(Pardon the savagery, been watching total drama a bit too much lately)

I reckon Further's a pretty good shout tbh - lots of people study it.

We have the first four of our top eight: Bio, Methods, Specialist and HHD.

In the next rounds of voting, the following eight subjects have the chance to join them: Revs, Psych, Eco, English/EAL, EngLang, Art, Media and Chemistry.

I'll back Chem and Methods/Specialist to make it to the final, though I'm really annoyed Physics didn't make it past R1 >:(

Methods is going to struggle; it just got knocked out by Bio. ;)

@jamon should do one of these for the HSC! ;D

Spesh (4.5k students) beating Further (33k students) is the most AN thing to ever happen

Looks like it's going into a prelim, too! It's currently up against HHD.
-
This is such a cool idea! I hope bio wins ;)
-
And so, with just ~4,500 students, Spesh somehow makes a prelim, victorious against HHD (~14,000 students).
That sets up our first prelim final: Bio v. Spesh.

The Psych v. English/EAL semi will be up on Facebook within the hour!

Psychology defeated English/EAL, meaning we're down to our final five subjects:
✅ Biology
✅ Specialist Maths
✅ Psychology
✅ English Language
✅ Chemistry
The EngLang v. Chem semi final will be up this afternoon. Make sure you vote!

We have our first grand finalist, folks! Bio is through to the big dance. The second prelim (Psych v. Chem) will be up this afternoon. :)

Despite me wanting psych to make it to the final, it would be a pretty weird coincidence if the subjects in the opposite corners both made it to the final

Would be mildly pleasing. I actually did notice this when the random generator spat out the subjects!
-
As much as I'd love chem to win, I reckon psych will probably beat the pants out of chem! 😄

Why's that? I reckon this upcoming prelim will be a close one!

No real reason why, but psych is definitely more popular than chem, from experience from school! 😄

Psych is definitely my preference, but I reckon Chem has a pretty big cult following out there.

@insanipi, Chem is off to an early lead!
Vote here.

This preliminary final is closing at an arbitrary time this afternoon. Currently, it stands as:
Psychology: 240 (49.8%)
Chemistry: 242 (50.2%)
There are literally two votes the difference. This is to get into the grand final. Absolute scenes.

Shattering loss for Psych fans; Chem eventually won 242-247.
HOWEVER, that sets up an absolute banger of a grand final: Biology v. Chemistry. Get involved on the Facebook posts, folks! 🏅

Darnit yertle, don't make me pull this meme out again... (I'm pretty sure it was you I made it for in the first place as well).

I'm pretty sure it was for me. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and in my opinion you need to stop telling me that my opinion is wrong, which is that you need to change your opinion, which is that my opinion (that you need to change your opinion) is wrong.
And if that makes sense to you, then well done

My opinion is that there is no right or wrong opinion, only opinions that may be opinionated regarding one's own opinion and the opinions of others
Oh no. I've read the word opinion to many times... It's lost its meaning

Ding ding ding, we have a winner! And that wraps up #BOTVCES2018. :)

The best subject wins!! :D :D :D Go bio!
-
Condolences to all those disappointed supporters of the unlucky runner-up! :'( So close, but just because of the misguided advertising that occurs out there, Chemistry has been stripped of its rightful honours. Better luck next time, guys, luck is all it will need since it already has the awesomeness!

Chem already is the champion (well, Physics might give it a tough run for its money), but I suppose I have to counterbalance the influence of PhoenixxFire, who has undermined the understanding and intelligence of hundreds, so #Chem4Champ #Physics4RU :P

If I have anything to do with it, English Language and VCD will split the next 10 titles hahaha.

respect bio won 8)
Mad run to the title; methods, spesh and chemistry.

Yep! Honestly, I thought Methods had a good crack at the whole thing. Turns out Legal Studies was actually Bio's biggest contender (in terms of winning margins).

I didn't want to be too confident before I knew bio had won I, uh...wasn't feeling very creative?

@yertle
Depending on how the current HSC match goes, we might have another bio vs Chem match soon.
