Post by: caitstar123 on June 23, 2018, 06:39:29 pm
Hey everyone,

I need a bit of help in understanding how the Spanish Civil war is linked to the lead up to or cause of world war 2- I'm not entirely sure right now.

Thank you  :)

Hey, I'm not sure if you still need help, bit the Spanish Civil War is linked most closely with the dotpoint about growing dictatorshops in Europe. So basically, it shows the aggressive, action taking nature of Italy and Germany and the passive nature of the Allies. The Spanish Civil War allowed Germany to test weapons, thus getting a headstart on the Allies and it also strengthened the relationship between Germany and Italy. I think around the time of the Spanish Civil War is when they formalised their alliance. This ensured that they would not join the Allies, which had previously been in contention.
Hope that helps!
