Hey, I’m fantasticbeasts3. Lover of avocado toast. Avid Harry Potter, How I Met Your Mother and Brooklyn Nine-Nine fan.

A bit more about me: I’m a first year International Studies and Media (PR & Advertising) student at UNSW. I completed my HSC last year and studied these subjects: Modern History, Legal Studies, Business Studies, Mathematics and English (Standard).

What’s this Q&A for? Well, you can ask me pretty much anything: What exactly is International Studies? Why did I choose International Studies and/or Media? Why UNSW? How did I study during the HSC? How did I deal with studying uncommon options in my subjects? How do I overcome procrastination? How do I deal with stress? Who’s my favourite Harry Potter character? What am I watching on Netflix right now? What’s my favourite One Direction song?

Ooh this is a hard one! I think the importance of time management is the biggest thing I've learnt. There's so much extra stuff going on that you need to have time for during uni, and the workload in some subjects is a lot more than the HSC!

I love it! The only annoying thing is how energy runs out so fast.

My favourite thing about International Studies is definitely learning another language!

Why ?  ;)

Only Harry and Ginny out of those 3 ships! Probably because it's canon but I never really liked Cho as a character (10 year old me thought she was super whiny), and shipping Harry and Hermione is weird to me because they're just friends.

9 3/4 - I loved it! Yea my username is from that movie!

My favourite movie at the moment is Set It Up (on Netflix) - really great cast and rom coms are my favourite movie genre so yea! I haven't read for leisure in a really long time so I don't have a favourite book... sorry

International Studies is a course based on broadening your knowledge in a variety of fields, mostly so you can work internationally. The main components of the course are: language, exchange, core subjects, minor and electives (at UNSW, that is). At this stage of my degree (semester 1 of my first year) I've only done one core subject and it's a mix of politics, history, geography, anthropology, sociology, economics, and a bunch of stuff in between like development studies (humanitarian). The minor is kinda for whatever you're most interested in the core subjects and you check out a whole list of them in the handbook. If you want any more information, feel free to PM me!

I don't have a specific favourite memory on AN, but whenever there's a question about my Legal Studies options on the question thread, I get really excited because they're uncommon options and questions about those options are really rare!

Nah, I don't ship them... just a big no in my book lol
