I don't know if this has been a thing before, but seeing that there has been a bit of discussion about Pokémon on the Art Challenge thread, particularly with @fun_jirachi, I thought we could have somewhere to discuss it here.

What is your favourite mon and why?
I love greninja, and I don't know why. I love the ability Battle Bond, it makes it a really good mon! Also love torkoal, mega charizard y and garchomp.

Any thoughts or discussion? :D

Gyarados because it was my first pokémon card and I also like Vaporeon.

Omg yess greninja! You never forget your (first) pokemon on Pokemon Y. Greninja got me through everything!!!!

I'm gonna sound so basic but I really just love Jigglypuff. She (well apparrently Jigglypuff species are 25% male and 75% female so) is absolutely adorable and the Jigglypuff song is actually a really good method to win a battle because no one actually gets hurt since the opponent ends up sleeping. You can literally dash off.

As for other Pokemons- (again very basic answers) SQUIRTLE and also Charmander. Though the Yveltal (from Pokemon Y) is so badass, which I love!!

I really like all water, fire, dark and cute Pokemons aha

This thread just reminds me I haven't watched/played Pokemon in a long time and I should probably get back into it.

So, coming off this, what are people's favourite types? I personally love steel, fairy and fire, though dragon is a pretty nice type too.

Any guesses for any added types next gen?

Not entirely sure who my favourite pokemon is. Maybe a random water type or something...

What I've seen for the Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee games haven't excited me much. I never played much pokemon go at all. I am excited for the main series game that will be coming out next year. That's probably when I'll cave in and finally get a switch.

Favourite mons: Greninja, Bidoof, Infernape, Scizor, Jirachi
Why: Greninja is just cool, bidoof is a meme king, infernape was my first ever starter, scizor was the first pokemon i got traded, and jirachi was the first event legendary i got
Favourite type? probably fire or dragon
No, i don't think there will be more types, currently i feel like theres an oversaturation of content what with the last two type introductions having a generation gap of four, plus z-moves and mega evolutions.

Also i've literally been grinding pokemon go lately, is that weird  :o :o :o  ??? ??? ???

would just like to bump this thread with a pretty sick update
Well I know pokemon go is a pretty dead game, but with the upcoming release of let's go eevee and let's go pikachu and its synchronisation with the game, even with the possible limitations on transfers, it might be a good time to get back into the game. Why?
basically loads of people have favourites in sinnoh right??!?!?! let's be real, the starters were the best (except for maybe a tighter contest with gen 1/gen 3/gen 6). all y'all love your bidoofs, your garchomps, your chimchars, your piplups, your lucarios, rotoms and whatnot.

well today was the official announcement that gen 4 is being released into the game! so im pretty stoked, especially since this is gen i started out with when i was a kid. heres hoping even more people will join the hype :D
