Title: Differentiated Essays
Post by: georgia7100 on October 15, 2018, 10:41:47 am
I'm slightly confused on how to go about writing differentiated essays. For example, in a Russia essay like "Assess the importance of the New Economic Policy in the Bolshevik consolidation of power". In a differentiated essay where you want to discuss other factors involved, would I still start off with NEP as my first paragraph? I was marked down in trials for doing this as my teacher said I should have written a more chronological response eg. start off with Initial reforms made by the Bolsheviks, Treaty of Brest Litovsk and so on...

Hi!

I didn't study Russia, but I would say the way you've answered it is right :-) With assess/to what extent/analyse questions like that, I was always taught to answer with the factor specified first (does that make sense?)

Best of luck for the HSC!!
