I’m almost certain i’m going to miss out on the ATAR I need by between 0.05 and 0.5 ATAR points.literal feels

Not kidding, this actually happened to me. However I was lucky enough to get an early conditional offer due to disadvantage/special entry scheme. Anyways, if you get that close, chances are you'll get picked up via middle band or even 2nd round. Gotta remember too that not all offers that are accepted are taken, some withdraw as they were only holding onto their first round offer as a safety net. You'll be right :)
I can already feel the disappointment coming even though I’ve worked so hard this year and gotten decent results for the SAC’s. I’m not even sure I want to see my study scores, just my ATAR. 😭😭
I know this is a silly question but do those of you who received your results in previous years think you should look at your study scores or your ATAR first? It’s obviously semantics but I’ve been thinking about it all day because I believe there really are advantages and disadvantages to both. Have any of you actually looked at your ATAR before your study scores and what did you think of it that way? Thanks :)Personally I did study scores first for a couple of reasons - I thought SS's were more meaningful because that is what I was working towards and ATAR is just a result of that also I would have a rough idea of the ATAR by looking at the SS's.

Although really just depends on the person (I think this topic has been discussed lately on the Class of 2018 thread)
Others like getting ATAR first because they can lift that pressure off early (especially if they feel they are on the borderline for a course) and then look through SS's. Also if you look at SS's first you will have a few seconds of panic calculating an ATAR (so really a positive and negative depending on the person).
Does my school get a copy of my results the day before is this right?Pretty sure they do, but they can't tell you anything about it (we discussed this here)
OK thanks sorry. :)No need to be sorry! I just linked that thread so you could read the whole discusssion :)
Omg it’s getting so close!!! I honestly feel like I’ve overestimated my study scores by about 10. Seeing the HSC people talking about their results definitely does not help lessen the agony of the wait haha!Same. I keep having nightmares where I get just below the clearly in for my course haha - which is also kind of ridiculous since I qualify for EAS so I'd probably get in anyway lol
I had a nightmare last night where I opened the results and ATAR app to see raw 10s for both my 3/4s. Urgh!!

Hey! :) I don’t do LOTE but I’m pretty sure you won’t be told your oral score unless you pay for a statement of marks.
I remember having a dream a few nights before results release that I got an ATAR of 12.00. Was interesting.
Unfortunately this is not for a course (I plan to do science at UoM which is a reasonable 85) but the UoM graduate entry guarantee for med/dent which requires a minimum of 99.
No special consideration or rounds to help me here making missing it by a few ATAR points very painful haha.
Not having the guarantee is a bit of a blessing in some ways to be perfectly honest. Without a safety blanket, you're almost forced to apply yourself a bit more.
Is it a good idea to repeat year 12? ???Generally no - you can do a pathway (e.g. a diploma) that will generally get you into wherever you want to be faster (or at least at the same speed) than repeating and it'll be more interesting than just redoing things.
Who's actually gonna get any sleep??I hope I will :( (Although it may be nice to be tired enough to just fall asleep right after I find out and avoid all the questions lol
Who's actually gonna get any sleep??Haha I’ve been sleeping a lot less than usual in the past few days and I’m not sure whether I’ll be able to get any tonight but I hope I do since I only got 6 last night. Good luck!
Hi, I’m not sure if this is a dumb question but when we get our results from the website tomorrow, the study scores are raw until we click view atar, and then it shows the scaled scores, right? I was wondering whether the letter grades were also raw. So if I got a C+ raw in GA1 but it became a B after scaling, for example, would it say C+ or B?

The closer to the release date, the later I go to sleep. Yesterday (technically today) I went to sleep at 5am and woke up at 3pm. I think that I might reach 7am today lol

is it sad I still have a screenie of my resultsandatar portal from 2012 lolYes. But I wouldn't be surprised if I keep mine too lol
I have no idea what the portal looks like today, but https://imgur.com/a/xTKeO3v should give you an idea of what to expect. Can actually log on early and look around this year - sadly can't see results yet.
Same. I keep having nightmares where I get just below the clearly in for my course haha - which is also kind of ridiculous since I qualify for EAS so I'd probably get in anyway lolWhat's worrying me is that I dreamt getting a 43. But looking at my SAC marks and the fact that I was daydreaming about going iceskating throughout my ENTIRE exam, I'm a bit worried.
Yes. But I wouldn't be surprised if I keep mine too lol

Grades (GA) are final after doing all the moderation etc.
Usually with scaled study scores, you can see the difference as in a lot of cases the scaled SS is a decimal. You should see both.

No. As long as you don't randomly bring your results up in conversations on a semi-regular basis, it's fineBut I do, constantly.. cos as we know, everybody cares about the ATAR, ESPECIALLY at uni.
Edit: ouch I just looked at the screenies I uploaded again, that scaling... :-X:'( :'(
:'( :'(
Outdoor Ed does the same thing
Here's a reallygoodboring story about my ATAR day experience.
Last year, I was actually on a school trip in the US on results day (yes, after I graduated).
Jet lag, plus being anxious about scores, plus a few mistimed trips to Starbucks before bed apparently equates to not sleeping for over 40 hours before scores release.
The end.
