hi atarnotes,
can anyone doing biomed at deakin give their reviews on the course and the campus??
and also i know that at Monash, the GAMSAT is not required for Monash MED as they only consider you GPA and interview. but is it the same for Deakin biomed? does deakin MED require its undergraduate students to do the GAMSAT?
please help!! i'm tossing up between Monash Science, Monash Biomed and Deakin Biomed.
any help would be greatly appreciated!
thank you!

Didn't go to deakin but pretty sure their MD course requires GAMSAT regardless of where you do your undergrad.

You also don't have to be a Deakin student to apply for the Deakin grad med course (in fact, you don't have to be a biomed student either - any undergrad course, of any discipline, will do).
You should also be considering factors such as location - how long would it take you to travel to the campuses? What modes of transport do you have available? Would you be willing to move?

Deakin biomed is a bad course with a pretty weak cohort; go to Monash if you can. I've taught students from Deakin and found their course frighteningly simple. Monash on the other hand is a lot more challenging, covers a lot more ground.
The only advantage of Deakin is that I'm pretty sure you do get a few extra points (maybe 2%?) if you apply for medicine there as a Deakin undergrad student.
