Hey are there any related text about the Australian dream such as mateship ??

Hey I'm not sure on the relevance to the new syllabus of my response but I'll answer anyway.

Last year we studied "Summer of the Seventeenth Doll" which focuses on the Australian Dream so you could potentially use that as a related text and bring into play the masculine identity in terms of mateship maybe.

My related text was Stan Grant's 2015 speech "Racism and the Australian Dream" as a part of the IQ2 debate which again isn't specifically about mateship but theres a lot of reference to a community of people so you could make it work.

What's your core text?

Hey, Sarah!

Would also like to throw in Tim Winton’s Cloudstreet which was on the prescribed list for the old syllabus. It’s a bit lengthy but a worthy read if you want to use ‘The Australian Dream’ as your central idea  ;D
