Can you use white out like these ones: (they're not liquid paper, they're the tape ones)
Or will you lose marks etc?
-
If it peels off somehow and reveals the wrong answer, then you will lose marks.
-
Whoa, I wouldn't risk it. Plus, don't you waste time switching to the tape and whiting it out then getting hold of your pen again?
-
Alright cool, so we are permitted to use it without any penalties right? Cause it says on the front cover you can't bring in any white out >_> but I've been using white out everytime I write English (almost become a habit), so yeah just scared I might get marks deducted or something like that.

Nah I've been practising since year 7, white out left hand pen in right, I use it like the backspace on the keyboard. Very very fast :P

I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to bring in tape or normal white out. At least that's what my teacher told us (she's also an assessor).
She also told us that it doesn't matter if there are things crossed out all over the place, as they read so many essays that they just skip straight over the corrections without a second thought.
It would be cool if you could unroll one of those things, write an essay on it, then stick it all back in; all ready to be rolled out onto the page :)
-
So I can't use em now? I remember doing it for Chinese SLA and Music Solo last year and when I got my S.O.M I don't think they deducted anything, but I'm not sure about English...
-
I can't say for sure, but we asked the exact same question - if we could use tape - and we were told that it's not allowed.
*edit* Our teacher didn't say you would get penalised for using it though...

Good idea

Your not going to lose marks for using white out up tape for the same reason you are not going to lose marks for scribbling out stuff or writing in pencil. The question is whether or not your allowed to use it in the first place which I'm pretty sure your not.
-
All my teachers said you can't use white-out.
Crossing out stuff is probably 100 times faster anyway.

Yes. Most likely.
You'll lose marks for writing "your" instead of "you're" though :)
-
Alright thanks guys, guess I'm gonna cross things out then.

lulz msn habit :P

Students are NOT permitted to bring into the examination room: blank sheets of paper and/or white out liquid/tape.

Yeah I tend to do that a lot. My grammar and spelling is terrible. I remember on one of my SACs I wrote "Other's"
-
Did you use white out? I was thinking of bringing one lol a hot pink coloured one lol. BTW i'm over my bandwidth limit (too much downloading and sending essays have maxed my 40gig *cough cough* (as well as downloding games) ) its funny because of TrueTear's avatar its like in slow motion
-
Didn't use white out, was too scared :(
So I crossed out everything.

Even if there isn't a penalty applied to you, there would still be the covert penalty of all the time you waste! I was even told by a teacher that I should scribble out writing differently (I scribbled over mistakes so that they were unreadable) because it was a waste of time :D
