I highly doubt I will get a distinction. The questions were hard

I got a distinction last year so I’m aiming for a HD this year but it’s leaning towards another distinction or credit cause I guessed some of the questions. Did u do junior or senior?

Yes but I am in year 10, doing Maths Methods, and I found the AMC test made so year 10s AND 9s hard. That is quite disappointing

I did the AMC for the first time today (Intermediate 9&10) and I think I got like 5 of the questions right, lmao.
I didn't really want to do it but it was compulsory for the advanced Maths classes.

Yeah it really checks your understanding of algebra and geometry

Yeah.... not too good.
So many triangle questions :o

I did the Intermediate 9-10 paper today (I'm in year 10). I did better than I expected.
At the start of the competition I flipped to the end and made a mental note of which of the final five seemed the easiest. Then I went back to the start and did questions 1-25. Out of the first 25 questions I did a rough guess for 2-3 of them (one was a geometry problem, one was a probability problem). Questions 20-25 I completed very easily, somehow. I managed to do 3 of the final 5: 26, 28, and 29. I'm very confident in two of those answers, the third one was one of those questions that have a ton of working out, which increases the chance of making a mistake somewhere. After attempting the 3, I went back and checked 1-25.
I'm hoping for a HD this time, I underperformed last year and got a credit.

This is a great shame, and almost enraged me.
I have been doing months of AIMO problems, and as well as solving other math problems.
Turns out, I'm able to solve most questions.
The SELP people are automatically registered for AMC
While I and others who are interested in math are PROHIBITED!
It shows up in my time table on compass,
Not as Australian mathematic competition, or AMC,
But as SELP AUS maths competition.
I’m at Werribee secondary, where the discrimination against the “inferior” people begins.
Everyone deserves a opportunity to participate, and people must not be forced to join.
Another year with no certificates, a year dishonoured. A school dishonoured.

I got all 18/19 correct of the first 19 questions (900/4 = 275 according to me) and I got question 22.

Does anyone know how much points you needed to get for a prize in past years?
