Title: Actual result scores
Post by: Louis23 on August 27, 2019, 07:44:32 pm
I made this forum, so people who didn't get in and people who got in can share their scores and see how close they were to getting in or how far they were from getting in.. :) :)

Verbal: superior (surprisingly)
Numerical: above average (I regret for thinking about how I done 30 questions and I could’ve get a superior so I didn’t really do anything for last two minutes but now I’m going to cry for that)
Writing: average(ew)
Reading: average(ehhh everyone did too well on this)
Math: high average (honestly don’t know how like I guessed 40ish)

Obviously that i didn’t get in. Could’ve done better in numerical and reading. Anyways, congrats if u got an offer! Hopefully u guys can enjoy this break and have a better high school journey for the next four years :)

There's a really interesting contrast in the way you've responded to the post you have and the way that post has responded to the news. We can all see you're disappointed and believe me, I feel terrible that you are, but it might be worth reflecting on how you're behaving on the forum too. You're not in trouble. Just life advice more than anything.

Given the small amount of selective schools and significantly larger proportion of uni students, I think it goes without saying that you definitely don't need to attend a selective school to a) get into uni or b) for it to be worthwhile. :)

Congratulations to all who got in and commiserations to those who didn't. Please don't feel like your self-worth is entirely defined whether you got in or not! It's upsetting and frustrating in the moment, but not going to a selective school isn't a barrier to any of you succeeding in VCE and beyond. All the best :)

Hey sorry to inform that the fact that you don’t have a superior is really working against you. Yes you may get lucky but do not hang on it as it is highly unlikely, and there are people with pd’s who are at the top of the waiting list. Good luck with year 10 entry! Btw which school was ur first preference?

M.yara184 might have done well but if he is from a very competitive school and he was cut off by the 5% rules, and the only way now is via the PD. He will not be select for the 2nd or 3rd round offer unless someone in his school drop their first round offer.
He was not selected for the PD interview because his PD write up is not good enough, not the result.

Getting an average could be worse than some people thought: it could be a very low mark and still fell into average . In this case you would need sacrifice two sups just to balance it out.

Sorry not being rude: just relay the point I heard before.

Yes, you are 5 marks from the last person, thats why they offer you in the Pd to write jn.
Which school are you from ?

Did all who given the offer in the first round take up their spot ?

If all 5% have been fill up in your school, you have been cut out, till someone give up their spot.
You might have given an offer from SCHS or Nossal in 2 or 3 round because someone in your school did not take up their spot. But no one MHS give up their spot.

Btw, what did you write in your PD ?

You can work out if your school have hit the 5%. If the school have 300 student for year 8, they will take 15 student. Ask around and you know what your chances like in the later round offer.

it says on the Mac.Rob website that the 5% rule doesn't apply to 2nd or 3rd round offers.

I emailed them and they said the 5% rule apply to the whole process so it only becomes possible when somebody in your school rejects their offer
